All I would add is this:
Seymour Guado clung to life like bird poo on a car fresh out the wash, and we have not yet began, begun, beginning, begoning, idk being dumb, to understand what this cross path craziness is or can be.
Redoing the same with just better assets is a remaster not a remake. This is a remake.
I would like you to provide direct links and statements to the source that Sora is a disney owned char.
Sora, Riku and Kairi (to a degree Roxas, Namine and Ansem) are unaffiliated with "Disney".
TL:DR - Disney doesnt share. They hate letting their IPs be used by anyone outside of Disney itself.
Sora was originally designed by Kingdom Hearts series director and character designer Tetsuya Nomura during a discussion between Disney and Square about who the protagonist of the series should be.

The main proof that Sora is NOT owned by Disney though, is that he exists in Super Smash Bros. As I said, Disney does not share IP.
Oh I love Valkyrie Profile 2, so sad the game had no proper sequel yet. I want to replay that game ! It was so good ! The port of the original one on PSP was so great ! I haven't played the original on PS1. The story was not what I expected it to be. I can't believe it wasn't already remade,. You had so much potential. Finding the best slain warriors on the battlefield and training them to send them rejoin Odin's forces in Valhalla, that was so cool (except the story is much more complex then that because Lenneth has her own agenda). I love how they improved on PS2 the combat. But I don't remember well how it end, did Alicia and Silmaria made peace ? It was V and Johnny Silverhand much, much before Cyberpunk 2077.
Back on the original topic, I believe it's a sequel, I believe Nojima didn't wanted to rewrite the same story as he did in the 90s. He wanted to improve, taking the opriginal story as base. I agree with him, replaying the same game is not as exciting because you already know what will hapenning. And also you can play the original because of the PS4 port or the PC port. Of coruse the graphics are not as good as remake, but you can improve it a lot already. I'm sure the mods will eventually mod the game with the new assets and you'll get a real FFVII remaster :)
I love Final Fantasy VII Remake because it is also different from the original and I will have surprise playing the rest of the games.
Valkyrie Profile is a prequel who during the course of the story is also a sequel (because it messed up VP1 with time travel).
But yeah i played it back in the days and really liked it. I wonder how will be this Valkyrie Elysium still schedule for 2022.
Edit: Didn't care for any of the Super Smash Bros games after Melee, until they added Cloud and Sephiroth. I had no other option than to get the game at that point.
Remake = Re-making the game (new engine, more or less stuff, whatever, same game overall)
Remaster = Lifting the game
Reboot = New departure, retcon of the original
Sequel = story is set after the first one (that's FF7R : a sequel in a // universe. The story is about faith and emolord sephiroth being a god doing emo stuff)
I wish Elysium could be good, but I have doubt, it will be full mtx like any phone games... I hope I'm wromng because it's a great franchise.
Disney actually does own the Kingdom Hearts IP with Square as the Developer/Publisher, However they did grant Nomura stewardship of the original characters introduced in the games (Sora, for example) and even asked his approval before using them in the Disney parks.
It was actually Nomura that was first having trouble allowing Sora into Smash, Disney actually agreed to it when it was proposed, but Nomura was concerned how it would fit into his canon.

Lezard ends up being the Lezard from VP1, who used time travel to go back in time after the end of VP1 to mess with the timeline. I mentioned it since it's both a prequel and a sequel and most of this forum can't seem the comprehend that.
I also really hope Elysium is good but I'm not expecting a lot. I don't think tri-Ace is even involved
Also, i just find it funny that some people think "Oh look, FF7 Remake is not really a remake but rather a reboot" would be OK to say that Resident Evil 2 (2019) is a remake. Why, because they didn't put the word "Remake" as a name of the game. If Capcom put the word "Remake" as a name like "Resident Evil 2 Remake" people would make a thread "debating" about it. But if we're going by the same logic, it's not really a "remake" but rather a "reboot" because they changed most of the stuff from the original.
The reason why i say this because i haven't seen people making a fuss about "Oh it's not a remake but a reboot" on RE2 (2019) and i'm pretty confident to say that because people are taking the word "Remake" on the game's name too literally and Capcom didn't put the word "Remake" as a name for the game like SE did with FF7 Remake, that's why they get the pass.
