Im sure there is a word that goes along with this theory, but let me give an attempt at it.
Imagine you go back in time to when you are 10 years old. Do you remember where you sit in class? Do you remember the teachers name? Hell, do you even remember what grade you are in at 10 without putting in effort to think about it?
Any change, could result in a vast difference to what we currently know right now. So for example, if you didnt ask a girl out, and then you did this time, this would have a huge impact on the future events of your life, and anyone else that was directly effected by your life.
So, even if Aerith knows the events of the previous timeline, she would do her best to try and make sure events unfold as she knows, to be able to have some degree of control over the outcomes.
If she just straight up said she knew how things were supposed to be, everyone would think she is just insane. On the off chance they believe her, would they just allow certain events to transpire knowing what they lead to?
Short answer is we will never know, or SHOULD never know, because the second we invent timetravel for real, we will screw our own history up horribly. (This is on the grounds we havent already and someone buggered with our timeline now)
I really don't think she knows everything that was supposed to occur. I think she just has a rough idea of what's to come. Judging by the Rebirth trailer, she didn't know about her death in the original, either.
I've come to think the "sequel" theory is wrong, and Sephiroth and Aerith both just have some glimpses of the future and how fate is supposed to play out thanks to their Cetra blood and the planet speaking to them.
Does Sephiroth have Cetra blood? AFAIK, his parents are Hojo and Lucrecia, with some Jenova Cells thrown into the mix. Jenova is an alien not Cetra. However he did get thrown into the lifestream by Cloud and absorbed some of the knowledge there.
There is a troll there which puts extra effort to come up with questions that make one in this thread super valid.
It's exact and for add much things in the game show that or heavily indicate that.
Other things i have notice i would want to ask Maximillian what he thinks of that
Fact that the vision what Cloud, Tifa and Barret saw actually of the Meteor who was ALREADY destroying Midgar....yes in the VR event in Shinra tower
Strange is that Mayor Domino saw that something goes wrong in the VR section...Normally ONLY the people affected by wel ....this thing could notice something...
And specially JUS Cloud for obvious Mako's reasons..but it's not Tifa saw it and Barret... But haven't saw their own death ..YES their own deaths and it's the point that's it's torubling
Remember that: in the original the Meteor hadn'"t reach the atmosphere eough for begin to destroy anything or almost...not the case here CLEARLY..
BUt ! The fate is STILL here so....the scene you see here CAN4T HAPPEN in reality....if fate is stil here..In the end it's nowhere to be seen....and it's irony: this scene can NOW HAPPEN in the future...
Who send that ? Sephiroth or the Planet ?
It's said that the streamlife had the ability to communicate the future in the present AND the past can being told to the present also. Only Aerith can dfo that in real time (not yet in efficient way at least as she said)
Other thing in the hidden scene of Cloud's definition the one with Aerith is clearly the most important one (for lore i mean) and also for mysterious.
It's clearly the original Aerith evrything she said is linked to...Specially rthe and it's makes sense "you think it's reral - that you loved me- but it's..an ILLUSION"
Indeed if you have done already the 1997 original one....you know why...
Other thing
Cloud touch his right arm when you meet "Sephiroth's clone" in the drumer just before the bridge fall.....
Not that Tifa saw what Cloud actually see WHEN she touch his left arm..../She react not Barret because he didn't touch Cloud arm or anything else..
His right arm where his future Geostigmate will..BE. (yes until that far...good nod)
Same is true for all the subsidiary things that only fan of the original can notice
The teen girl who was playing in the playground of the children in sector 5 the one where no adult area llowed in normal time well..listent their speech "i come from an another planet, i am not from here..."
In fact when you listen carefully some npc (i have DONE al of them...) and same for some events you can understand that more easily but it's cleaverly done.
I have though to something as Maximillian said from my side :
Cloiud need to suffer for stil beging storng because Sephiroth N EED him yes sir !
But no one said that Aerith had to die this time...i mean it's not ONLY the ONLY character who will AFFECT GREATLY Cloud' mind and anger....Tifa can after all.
Why ? Think about it in the original Aerith had to die (yes i know...don't remember me this moment..please) for the Meter prevention..ok let's it be.
But the thing is Sephiroth in the end is the one from the future..he handle and trump Cloud's Omnislash new version in a era where time no mater and count... (you will notice the big step up for Cloud contrary to just the battle before)
Sephiroth KNOW that if Aeirth die this time he is done if he strill want of course summon the Meteor.
" Seven second until the end, what will you CHOOSE, let see" - The clock of the Apocalypse well know for.
I begin to think that it will HURT much bigger than the original..in fact a choice to make but no matter you will be screwed more or les...depending of you and your..sentiments between else.
Ater all when you defetead the destiny..the VR FMV with the actual Metoer slaughter CAN HAPPEN clearly... What you saw can't IF only the fate was ALREADY taken down to this exact moment..it's not until you reach the end... and Sephiroth...
Tifa is the only character i can see make Cloud BIG depression....aside Aerith. If Aerioth donb't die no proteciton for Meteor smash the planet AND....Tifa dying will make Cloud like Sephiroth want...Your choice either that or..something else
I agree with Maximillian Dood on much thing i have to say. Clever analyse from him too.
If the Meteor can land of the planet and of course Aerith is still here yes it can happen. the same that contrary to before righlty..EVRYONE can die technically... No fate will be here for prevent that.
Bring it on for the Rebirth 's God !
Ye sor or less..but remember that the streamlife can communicate in all three way in time: futur (indeed we saw it in glimpses from the future in our "present") and the same is true for old evneyts witch is the pasts..The remake is in fact a retold...but the things if
A what if ? If the planet can use ancient tale for told actual people what it's going to be ? A constant memory even in old past..
I am pretty sure that the Aerith fear in the opening scene was already Sephiroth or maybe the fillers...can be.
As Maximillian said each time the things are not set to well like the original they are here...
Jessie's hurt by them for make Cloud join the second mission yes sir !
Or the ones with Aerith when you meet her "for said "ok moving on ! You had met Cloud it's enough you nailed it and moving on toward the Churtch for futur event ! We will save you from a fall also note to be mentionnned huhu"
But destiny is not here. See my others comments but i am pretty sure that the Rebirth and the third one wil make much sad yet that the original... i fell it.
If i have find the thing for indeed it can be.
After all Aerith is not the only one that can make Cloud in depression and lost his mind..Tifa does and Sephiroth that Aerith had not to die for make him lose in the end...
Tifa can...Just let Aerith...or let the choice from Cloud... "Seven seconds until the end, what will YOU CHGOOSE, let's see"
Just hope it's not the same tricky think that really HURT...like the first Life is Strange in the ending..your choice, your story.
Yu can't complaint if your made the choice it' snot a set fact. You ask for it...mor eor less...
In the original it's a fact "ok...very VERY SAD..but i will make up mor eor less..and try to " ..this time...huuhu
See my others comments..
This technically still falls in (A), resemblance to Zack, traits that give out him being a Soldier, his eyes, which she would know from Zack.
Actually not quite, Shinra members like the Turks seem to recognize them by their eyes, but most of the time Cloud specifically has to tell someone he's from Soldier.
This falls more towards (B), mystical stuff like the planet telling her or her remembering the original events.
uuuhhhh... okay? It was a legitimate question, Aerith seems to know some stuff that she shouldn't, like Marlene or Barrett without meeting them first. Marlene even felt something was odd with her.
This is a good theory, and I believe it's somewhat accurate, but there's some discrepancies. She remembers almost everyone, but not always, so unless she's putting up an act, there's no way she wouldn't remember Tifa. She knew Cloud was lying, so she must've known he has given the flower to Tifa, I think she's putting up a facade.
The Cetra are the original progenitors of the planet, this was explained ingame.
Interesting, but I think you're reading too much into it. Being a Soldier, Cloud has Jenova cells in him, this allows Sephiroth to have some control over him. He also has Mako infused energy which comes from the planet, this is what gives him his vision, it's the planet trying to communicate with him. The combination of the two gives him his superhuman abilities.
She was just reenacting a theatrical play.
Anyways good theories people, keep'em coming!
Not sure about Aerith having read the scrip like Sephiroth. She doesn't seem like it but the way the ghosts keep attacking her all game long could be a tip off. Or it could just be because of stuff Sephiroth is doing to try to prevent her from joining the party.
Deez) her ex-
Meaning, she does not know specifics about time, but she can "feel" things, combined with the planet talking to her. And since this is a altered timeline/reincarnation timeline, then both are telling her stuff, that make her have foresight of sorts.
They were all just put on TV for the Airbuster fight, too, and Aerith could have recognized the moves... No, that can't be it, her house is far away and I didn't see a TV in the church.
All in all, I think it's most likely she knows the future to some degree. There are hints of that in other parts of the story.
