Is there a way to pass time?
Any way to pass time in the garage? So that I won't have to arrive at my destination at 1 am where everything is dark as hell and try to explore forests and stuff in pitch black.

I haven't found anything like that but I was messing around in gameplay settings and found an option to speed up nights, I almost did it but decided screw it, I signed up for a survival game and that's what I'm playing.

Exactly. If I was actually trying to survive in this place for real, the ABSOLUTE LAST thing I'd do is go out at night.

When it takes 9-12 hours just to get where you're going, you're going to be out at night whether you like it or not.

Still, I, too, would like a cot or something in the garage to allow us to pass time so I can choose when I start a drive. It'd be nice to be able to look at your route and see that you're going to be in a dark zone after x hours of driving, so you time your departure so you hit that dark zone just after nightfall.

Plot-wise the player is not urged to do anything under any time period. For realistic reasons a normal person would also cot and pass time until its daylight or at least plan ahead so he arrives at set destination at morning

I have suggested the idea of adding a makeshift bed or something in the garage for us to use.

it makes sense and would add more function to an unused room (the main lobby)

Plot wise, the player is under subconscious compulsion to go into the area deeper and deeper, as he's driven mad by the remnant car. You say he's under no time pressure, but he knows he's going to go crazy. The thoughts of him going crazy are coinciding with the impulse to run off into danger as the solution to his madness is in the same location. Think of it like an uncontrollable resonance between these twin forces.

That's why you never take a break.

Although the mc is bound to a remnant that is slowly driving him insane, the main character is still human, something like a bed would make sense as even someone running out of time would need to sleep from time to time.

Seconding this inclusion. It'd be nice if it functioned like waiting in the Bethesda RPGs, where you can set a specific time to finish resting.

Honestly, it'd just be nice to have more shop interior/exterior utilities.

I pass time by reading log entries or just chilling with the juekbox.

Sit in the garage

There was supposed to be a basement!?!?

Am I correct in assuming thats whats behind the locked keypad? I was debating about spending the electrical wiring kit on it, but was hoping Oppy would cough up the code later in game.

No, that's not it, Blackwater.

And I don't know anything. I just look at dumped resources that I can't investigate any further than the fact that there's a file path, and named resources, but if they are real or just empty, I have no way of knowing. No basement exists on the map, so don't worry about looking for it, just complete the story and you'll eventually get to open the keypad door.
You can eventually open the door? I'm almost 70 hours in and I beat the game already just messing around, is it some kind of secret?

I don't need a bed, I just want to take a nap in my car. At the moment I have to pass time at normal game time, but an option to nap for a few hours before starting the next trip would be very nice.
