So you started as a "Hunter" then ended as a "Mechanic" You all are too much... Couldn't make this stuff up..
@G.A.K.v3.2 (Mechanic), what do you mean "I have to charge [the battery] at the gas station"? Gas stations don't have battery chargers, they only have gas (and some loot). You can craft a battery charging kit, or just charge your car for free back at the workshop (aka Home). Heck, if things get really dire you can use some of your gathered kLIM energy to charge the battery via the ARC device if you really need to. But don't let that happen.
The bottom line is that your battery charge isn't really for powering your engine, it's for powering your abilities, such as jumping the car, nitro boost, repelling enemies, or... lighting up the darkness. It makes sense both as a gameplay aspect, and also in lore, as everything not specifically made with LIM tech degrades extremely rapidly in the Zone.
If it floats, however, it may be a witch. Possibly a log. Given the content of OP's topic, I settle on "they must be a log."
ah, I should have known better. So that makes a bit more sense.
Also, My mistake on calling the Garage or "home base" a gas station.
But what I am thinking now is maybe there is a separate battery specifically for the car that's attached to the alternator so the essential stuff like the engine can still power on. I know that the starter and the spark plugs in the engine are what would need electricity. The arc device is also essential so it would remain on the alternator since "it needs alot of power".
And then for the battery that you are charging is for the somewhat not-so-essential stuff like lights and other abilities. I mean, its not like you need to keep the lights on while the suns out.
Its by coincidence that my "name" is mechanic. Each of those names represent a certain topic I reflect on or think about. "I become this thing in my head as a figure of speech sort of thing." Its a personal thing I do.
as for my experience with cars, I have owned a 98 sienna, 07 f-150, and 2020 F-150. Each of those cars I have used during my time working as a Field Technician Contractor for DirecTV and Dish Network and later for a Wireless ISP.
I have had to get a good understanding about each of the vehicles I drove so that I could keep on going. otherwise, im losing money.
And I want you all to know that I am enjoying this game very much. I even think about playing it when I am on my way home from work.
Let people have fun with their usernames and express themselves I'd say
the car is probably mid-70s
Cop cars and utility vehicles have had solutions to this mostly just larger alternators and batteries or more, that and low riders and other mods, this still leaches from the motor and as a result, will cost you in fuel economy and performance.
more space to store junk in the trunk tho
It's a Radius Motors 1983 Station Wagon. According to the games lore that is.
So I am starting to realize I might be right about the car having multiple batteries where one is for the engine itself and probably even the ARC device and the one you see in the engine bay is for everything else. Ford did something similar with their truck back in the 70s. You had this extra battery compartment in the engine bay that could be used for anything you wanted to add to the truck. You would turn the key to a specific position too if you wanted to engage the battery. AFAIK anyway.
I also have reason to believe thag the station wagons essential battery for the engine might be hiding else where In the car.
Like just a while ago, I learned that my parents 2017 Chevy traverse has it's battery behind the front right passenger seat. You will not see it in the engine bay.
Its already in the game. but you have to put the arc energy into the arc charger first instead of the arc device.
