As for armor, tbh I finished the game with the impact plating too.
thats what ive been thinking, like in my last run i went to a map with "olympium veins" only to find a single spire with two olympium fragments in it.
i have gotten decent amounts of olympium, mostly its just been bad rng stopping me from getting arda sites
5 Olympium doors require 5x8 = 40 Olympium
5 Olympium panels require 5x10 = 50 Olympium
2 Olympium bumpers require 2x12 = 24 Olympium
1 LIM-chipped engine requires 1x40 = 40 Olympium (plus 4x6 = 24 Olympium to make the required LIM chips)
If you then also want to try out the anti-grav emitter or chrono dilator, that's 18 more Olympium plus 2x6 = 12 Olympium for the LIM chips, for each of them. And that's not even counting the Olympium you need to upgrade your clothes.
There are definitely areas where you can find enough Olympium for all that, but you have to be lucky to even be able to go to those areas. Ultimately, a full Olympium car is doable, but it requires some grinding. Just from my own experience, 'normal' parts are totally fine to finish the entire game, and you'll likely find enough 'normal' resources to be able to switch out parts anytime one of them becomes fragile.
Here are some general tips just from my own experience:
- As has been said, try to go for ARDA sites if you can.
- Always recycle Olympium parts in the matter deconstructor to get some of that Olympium back.
- Definitely get the upgrade at the fabrication station that allows you to skip junctions along highways. That'll allow you to focus your runs on areas in the deep zone.
- Likewise, get the upgrade that allows you to 're-roll' junctions, so you can re-roll them until they show Olympium veins.
- If you're at the main story mission where you have to overload the ARC device, I've found loads of Olympium on that map, and since it's a main story mission, you don't have any time pressure there. Remember to bring lots of magnetic hammers with you!
- I'm not entirely sure, but I think Olympium veins can frequently (though not always) be found near Blacksmith anomalies.
- In my experience, Olympium veins are also often (though not always) located in lower areas of maps. Again, I'm not entirely sure, this might just be coincidence.
Maybe there's a correlation with ARDA sites and olympium veins, but the map also shows you the resource density of a junction, which is very helpful if you're specifically looking for certain materials. Changes on a reroll too.
yeah, i mean i probably will go for all olympium eventually, if only because i want to see what the "final" version of the car is meant to look like
i once thought about that too but after i crafted the lim door and install it in my car... i simply lost interest because looks pretty ugly to me lol. i was hoping that i finally could see something sleek and rust free instead of another rustbucket, OSHA nightmare fuel born out from some random middle east toyota mechanic.
yeah, armour looks so much better
