is olympium worth it?
is it even worth upgrading past armour plating? my olympium stuff seems to take damage at roughly the same rate

Well the last engine is very worth it, and you need olympium for it.
As for armor, tbh I finished the game with the impact plating too.

I'm not sure if it's worth it necessarily, but I do like the look of the car in full olympium parts and I like the LIM chipped engine. I still haven't properly tested the other engines, but with 2 mini turbines, just driving will charge your batteries assuming you're not running them. I also just like it since it gives me something to do.

About as worth it the upgrade from steel to armored is, its a buff after all and it'll last you longer.

Also keep in mind that parts can become fragile with use, so if you're having a hard time finding Olympium, having Olympium parts on your car will most likely force you to find more Olympium, just to keep your car in good condition. Might be worth it to stay with 'lesser' parts just because of your resource situation.

thats what ive been thinking, like in my last run i went to a map with "olympium veins" only to find a single spire with two olympium fragments in it.

There's reliable olympium areas, so far "arda sites" seem to be decently good ones. Other people have noted Olympium parts seem to also last longer before they wear out but I haven't personally confirmed that bit yet. You can easily get a whole car's replacement in parts if you get a decent arda site in 1 junction.

When planning a route, look at the info at the top of a junction. It should note in big letters important info and then a small set of letters under that. If your see "ARDA SITE", try heading for those with a resource scanner. Me and others have found at minimum 5 olympium spires and at max like 9 all in one junction, boat loads of olympium.

i have gotten decent amounts of olympium, mostly its just been bad rng stopping me from getting arda sites

It's true that you can get decent amounts of Olympium if you're lucky and you bring a bunch of magnetic hammers with you, but it's still really costly to outfit your entire car with Olympium, which translates into a lot of runs just for grinding Olympium:

5 Olympium doors require 5x8 = 40 Olympium
5 Olympium panels require 5x10 = 50 Olympium
2 Olympium bumpers require 2x12 = 24 Olympium
1 LIM-chipped engine requires 1x40 = 40 Olympium (plus 4x6 = 24 Olympium to make the required LIM chips)

If you then also want to try out the anti-grav emitter or chrono dilator, that's 18 more Olympium plus 2x6 = 12 Olympium for the LIM chips, for each of them. And that's not even counting the Olympium you need to upgrade your clothes.

There are definitely areas where you can find enough Olympium for all that, but you have to be lucky to even be able to go to those areas. Ultimately, a full Olympium car is doable, but it requires some grinding. Just from my own experience, 'normal' parts are totally fine to finish the entire game, and you'll likely find enough 'normal' resources to be able to switch out parts anytime one of them becomes fragile.

Here are some general tips just from my own experience:

- As has been said, try to go for ARDA sites if you can.
- Always recycle Olympium parts in the matter deconstructor to get some of that Olympium back.
- Definitely get the upgrade at the fabrication station that allows you to skip junctions along highways. That'll allow you to focus your runs on areas in the deep zone.
- Likewise, get the upgrade that allows you to 're-roll' junctions, so you can re-roll them until they show Olympium veins.
- If you're at the main story mission where you have to overload the ARC device, I've found loads of Olympium on that map, and since it's a main story mission, you don't have any time pressure there. Remember to bring lots of magnetic hammers with you!
- I'm not entirely sure, but I think Olympium veins can frequently (though not always) be found near Blacksmith anomalies.
- In my experience, Olympium veins are also often (though not always) located in lower areas of maps. Again, I'm not entirely sure, this might just be coincidence.

Maybe there's a correlation with ARDA sites and olympium veins, but the map also shows you the resource density of a junction, which is very helpful if you're specifically looking for certain materials. Changes on a reroll too.

There is some correlation as the location matters a lot. I've had a max resource density give literally 2 spires, I scoured the map as best I could spamming resource radar. Half a bar of resource density on an arda site gave me 6 spires, none of them were hard to find. There was probably a 7th all things considered as there was a house I didn't pass by but I'll just say 6 since that's all I personally found.

i do noticed that lim parts wear out significantly longer than lower tier counterparts. but personally, i still think its not worth it. even till now the only lim thing im using is lim bumper (pretty good hp + impact/explosive resistance). armored + lead parts are all i need to venture into the deepest part of the zone because only impact + radiation are the only ones that are extremely hard to avoid.

yeah, i mean i probably will go for all olympium eventually, if only because i want to see what the "final" version of the car is meant to look like

i once thought about that too but after i crafted the lim door and install it in my car... i simply lost interest because looks pretty ugly to me lol. i was hoping that i finally could see something sleek and rust free instead of another rustbucket, OSHA nightmare fuel born out from some random middle east toyota mechanic.

yeah, armour looks so much better
