Car part spacial status effects
I noticed that when car parts are examined the parts show a few little symbols with a percentage on them. They can be a lightning bolt and a +50% or a radiation sign, etc.
Sometimes they even have a symbol of a broken shield and an orange diamond next to them.
Newly made parts don't have them.
Does anyone know what those mean? Is it a degradation of the part's resistances? Should I replace my car parts when they get them? (If so, I need to switch parts VERY OFTEN)

if the part is on your car, press C to see what status effects it has. If its in your hands or inventory you can press V (with inv screen open) to see more info about the item including those effects.

Basically if the icons is red it will most likely need a mechanics kit or electricians kit to fix.
Yellow will need sealant or bulb or something. Itll tell you what you need while its on the car by pressing C while looking at it.

If its a white X in a circle then it has a permanent defect that you might consider scrapping and rebuilding for if you have the spare parts. -edit- Not scrap with tool, but matter deconstructor like Insolent said. You get to a point where the moment an item gets a permanent debuff you just deconstruct and replace with most mats refunded

The broken shield is fragile, that part takes more damage or protects you less or both I forgot.

I know for sure that hearts are gifted by the dumpster and im pretty certain that yellow diamonds are found/special items.

Effects like charged and wet cant be removed but disappear over time. Dont introduce them to each other. Bald tires happen regardless of how many flats you get and cant be repaired and will eventually blow out.

As of right now ive been through maybe 9 runs with the same body kit with no significant damage or effects but I take an extra tire with me on every trip because im rotating perfectly through a single tire going bald every time I take it out.

Car parts do eventually wear out, but it'll be a gray X instead of a colored icon. If you scan that part it'll tell you what's wrong with it and how to fix it. Most status things on your car are going to be fixed with either a mechanic kit or a sealant kit, but they all eventually come into play occasionally. Once they get any of the permanent debuffs like worn, rusty, fragile, unreliable, etc, I put the part in the matter deconstructor at the garage. Then you can get a good chunk of the materials back to make a replacement. I'd say your average part might make it 3 or 4 runs. It really seems to depend on what the part is and how long each drive you're doing is.

Is it not the case that, as it says in the game, adjacent parts transfer over some of their effects? So a Armoured Panel next to a Insulated Panel will give the Armoured Panel a bit of the resistances from the Insulated Panel. This will be the % bonuses you see on the car that an item will not show when new/not mounted.

There is a bug in game, where new (crafted) items installed to the car may not get the bonuses from surrounded parts. (Already reported this issue.) Usually happens with tires. E.g if i replace a tire and put a new one on, it's status shows no bonuses. Now, if i unmount armored panel above it and put the armored panel back, then tire status shows it having +30% impact and +15% explosion resistance.
