I haven't had time for a lengthy session yet, so the suggestions may or may not have fixed it already. Ill update the thread once I have.
i'm not hyper tech savvy, so advice that's not hyper technical would be great.
i'll try running it on the not recommended direct x 11, and some other things. i just wanted to play a bit before sleep, but i'm just too tired to think straight.
oh well.
i may have to go that route, more and more games, which used to work perfectly fine, are causing my PC to shutdown, and a few I can replicate the issue at the same spot in said games, already cleaned out dust, but suspect a failing GPU, This game though is working fine and not giving me any bs, unlike my other fav games. If my swapping out the GPU doesnt send this Fng bs packing I'll be doimng the same.
I built my rig about 14 months ago, and I'd yet to encounter something like this. from my perspective its a software issue, not a hardware one. After work i'll really try to dig into solutions, its just hard when I get 0 info on why the failure happens, and my computer isnt even struggling or making any sounds of effort to make me wonder if its ok.
so something with my computer and D12 seems .... not happy lol.
ANYTHING you could find out would be most helpful, and here is the kicker while some newer games do it or i get an instant shutdown upon launch, its the older games that have started doing it when they worked perfectly fine before. I don't overclock or anything like that. I CAN tell you that Ive had it shutdown either when its transitioning to a new area (Echo) Splash landing on the water planet in Outer Wilds, when I deflate the air bladder in Subnautica, and recently Evil Within and Batman Arkham Knight both joined the bs shutdown for no flipping reason when in red lit areas, and not even a whine from the GPU before hand. ALL the games I listed use to work perfectly fine, and so far, no such crap from pacific Drive, though its a bit choppy, still fine tuning settings to get the smoothest play yet still looking decent.
I'm Windows 10 x64
Intel (R) Core (TM) i5-6500 CPU 3.20 GHz
16 gig RAM
Radeon xt 470 4 gig
About that, I thought I was still on direct X 10, let alone 11 or 12, yet when i launched this after buying it, fully expecting it to not work, it plays fine in both modes, and seems to do better in 12, does this get updated in windows update or something? i never updated it, as i have older games i still wish to play (Yes, Evil Within, as soon as i get this crap fixed, we'll be back to show chainsaw boy whose boss again)
