In game explanation of objects is severely lacking e.g. Transfer Trunk

It's fine to be circumspect if it's related to non critical items, but the brief text for the transfer truck seems to imply that what you put in it is available when you're away from the garage. Is that actually right?

Or is it a magical small trunk like the TARDIS that's huge on the inside - if so, how do you store it in the car? Are you supposed to put it on a roof rack at some point?

I'm the last person that will ever ask to be hand-held through a game, but something like this needs a little more clarity. There are quite a few times where the brevity borders on obfuscation.

I agree, I don't really understand what's the transfer trunk for, all I see is that it's thrown out from the Vargas Auto-Vac machine every time you use it.

I think it’s just to make it more convenient to empty your car of materials and transfer them to your storage. In the preview build from January, the dumpster spat out a fresh one every time the player returned to the garage.

But... it is explained...

The whole purpose is to give yourself more inventory room to transfer items from one storage to another, reducing the amount of trips you'd have to make. Emptying out a car full of resources can already take two to three trips, ignoring larger items like car parts or tools.

2 or 3 trips where? The locker like 2 metres away? You still need to pick up the inventory out of the transfer trunk. Still can't understand what it is achieving.

Exactly, and with the T key you can transfer all materials and then on the VAC machine, just press X with the cursor on top of the items to literally drop all of them on the floor. The VAC machine will suck them all.

Agree. It seems unfinished in the demo (which is fine) but its utility is unclear.

Being able to transfer directly from the car to the locker while parked in a garage seems more straightforward (assuming lockers in garages are shared globally) .

If you hold the box while interacting with the locker, you can dump straight from the trunk to the locker

The Advantage of the Transfer Trunk is a) it is bigger than your inventory and b) while you carry it, you can open another container (like the locker or your cardboard boxes in the car) and use the inventory of the transfer trunk AND your own inventory. This way even if you have multiple side storage racks and the trunk full of stuff you can grab all of it in one go.
