-Im not bought this jet but, if you're bought it already so, there is not possible to that? In that case im not buy this. x3
I to wish you could rename names.
1. locate where you installed the game
2. open "gameoflife2_data"
3. open "plugins"
4. open "x86_64"
5. open "steam_emu" with notepad
6. find --- username=patrick patrick is just a sample name yours would be what you named it.
7. change name to what you want it to be
8. choose file in the top left and choose save
start the game and your new name should be what you changed it to.
-For real? I wish then developer could confirm this or told this before but, more likely just get this option in game without edit files.
Only thing in there is DLL files. would there be a differance between Win7 and Win10 locations? I'm actually trying to find out for a friend that had her named change when she started game one day, I said it should be using your Steam name. (it was using Steam name from day 1 then this sudden change for no known reason)
I'm also willing to bet part of the reason we still don't have this after a year is that changing names for single and local multiplayer doesn't sell four copies of the game at a time. TGoL2 supports remote play together, so people can play online if only one person buys a steam copy, but in order to set your own name, everyone has to buy their own version. Very cool.
So, for now, no, your in game name is just your steam name. If you play locally, the other players are player 2-4. It's unclear if they intend have an in-game name separate from the steam name for online, or just be able to rename in local offline play. It's also entirely possible they just, never get around to it. Only time will tell.
Like fine - they want to avoid f words.
But why not add the ability to change name while still checking the result?
Ok - not buying any DLCs then. No more support for lazy developers
Yeah, uhm, why was my steam name changed to EmeraldFroh for this game?
