Worth holding off on ascension?

I been playing for a while now, mainly have it in the background or second monitor so I can grab golden cookies. I currently have over 14,640 prestige levels and was wondering if I should continue holding off so I can get one of the last buildings, the Cortex Baker. Is there anything associated with doing anything on your first run of the game?

If I should ascend, is there anything I should do before I do so?

Each Prestige Level rewards 1% CPS boost. Holding off until the Cortex Baker may take a while. That 14K% should help.

Is there anything I should do before hand? Sell things off, ect? I know I should have ascended at like 444 prestige levels like recommended, but I didn't know there was a guide on when to do it to get the best results. I'm at 1.3 septillion cookies atm, so about... 2-3 more days of it.

If it's for that achievement, I already did that. Sucked but had to be done. XD

If you have wrinklers and the Pantheon unlocked, put Skruuia in the diamond slot and pop all of them to get some more free prestige. There are other things to do right before ascending to get a bit more prestige (Sell all buildings with Earth shatterer + Reality bending aura, sell all stocks, then buy chocolate egg), but those all require certain heavenly upgrades you won't have yet on your first run.

Also I guarantee you if you ascend right now, you will get to the Cortex Baker much quicker than if you just wait at your current prestige. The CpS increase from ascending is very exponential, early on.

Any achievements which require you to be on the first run can also be done on a challenge run which is an option you can choose when ascending, so ascending will never lock you out of those achievements.

I actually managed to get that Cortex Baker last night. I was playing around with the Wrinklers after reading a bit more. Got stuff to do today, so I'm going to leave the game open while doing so and get some extra prestige levels before I ascend.

Yes. It's just like a regular ascension except without the heavenly upgrades and prestige cps boost. In fact, there are three "groups" of achievements that can only be obtained in challenge mode, and two of them are mutually exclusive. So it's impossible to obtain all achievements on one without using it.
