Playtime not working correctly
I have the game running whenever my PC is running, but the playtime seems to be glitched. I realized that the first day I had the game, when it was running, it said 8 hours playtime, but when I closed it, the playtime decreased to 1 hour... it happens all the time, whenever I close the game, the playtime decreases by 80-85% of the time I really played that session.

There are two locations where playtime is recorder. In the game, in the statistics page, and then Steam also records it. If it is in-game, Then you should report it here and perhaps someone will try and figure out what could cause this anomaly. If it is the Steam information that is wrong and you desire a resolution, you should report it to Steam/Valve. Not here.

If you just want a discussion on the accuracy of recorded playtime, then you're in the right spot. :) FWIW, I believe my in-game playtime is more or less correct, and I've never bothered to compare Steam play time with actual values, because I personally don't care enough. Perhaps, because then I'd have to face up with how much time I spend gaming and i would be embarrassed. :)

Are you sure you're not just looking at the in-game playtime for your current ascension? Because that one keeps on ticking even when your game is closed. It's not linked to your playtime on PC.

I'm looking at the overall playtime on Steam.

I've had the same problem with only this game.

Steam is probably counting the time for all three of those cookie clicker background processes that are running while the game is open, instead of just the one.

Yeah, unfortunatelly I also have the exact same issue.

Yeah, you're actually right. You mean this here?

Maybe this is the issue. I never saw that Cookie Clicker runs three processes, but I looked now, and it does for me as well.

I guess you could be busy playing creeper world at the same time, so some people wouldn't even count it as "playing".
