Is there a point to starting the Grandmapocalypse final phase?

It completely removes golden cookies and with that seems to go away the "click x777" and "production up for 7 minutes" cookies. Some of my best cookie gains were mixing the wrath and golden cookie effects. I know the spells give you golden cookies but I'm not really understanding why I'd want to fully remove them?.

Sure. :)
You want all the upgrades and thats the reason to complete the Grandmapocalypse. As soon as the last upgrade gets purchased, youre able to use "Elder Pledge", which stops the Grandmapocalypse for half an hour. It can be extended up to an hour with heavenly upgrades.

You could also use "Elder Covenant", which will permanently stop the Grandmapocalypse at a cost of 5% of your total CPS. (which is totally fine, since the % increase is way higher than the 5% loss.)

All these options will be unlocked as soon as you complete the Grandmapocalypse.

Yea but the Pledge and Covenant prevent wrath cookies..right?. I like having a mix of golden and wrath to get the different effects.

This topic is quite full of misinformation. The true advantage of grandmapocolypse is that the wrinklers synergize together to get something like x5 or x6 total CPS if you let them all spawn and eat the cookie for a while and then pop them. It's the best path for if you're idle which is why elder pact is useful.

Click Frenzy (x777 per click) is still available, it is just slightly reduced in chance because of the other possible effects that get added.

The reason for going fully into the grandmapocalypse is to maximze the chance of Elder Frenzy (~6% of the time, x666 CpS), which then combines with Force the Hand of Fate aiming for Click Frenzy (~25% of the time from this effect, much rarer from regular golden cookies, x777 per click), and topped up with selling buildings with Godzamok (currently I sell 4x700 buildings for a x29 CpS boost), so each click for about 8 seconds (if you get everything done quickly enough) is worth about 15 million normal clicks, or about 1.5 million my CpS (about 17 days worth per click).

While in theory Click Frenzy and Dragon Flight are also similarly powerful, if Dragon Flight is running normal golden cookies have a 95% reduction in chance of being Click Frenzy, and Forcing the Hand of Fate entirely disables Click Frenzy as a result when Dragon Flight is running (and Dragon Flight isn't available from FtHoF golden cookies), so it is much less straightforward to get this combo.

And if you are playing for combos, every other source of cookies becomes basically irrelevant, only things that boost the raw cps, your clicks or the rate of spawning golden (or wrath) cookies matter, and your background earnings, non-combo golden cookies and offline production end up generating ~0.1% of your cookies.

I don't agree. Calling wrinklers "the true advantage" of grandmapocalypse is just too far fetched.
It may help in the first 24 hours of this game or the first hour after every ascension but as soon as you get to the big numbers, it has literally no effect.

I would say the same thing about the garden and harvesting Bakeberries or Duketaters during a frenzy. The effect fades away during your progression and the more you progress, Wrinklers and the Garden become more and more useless.

basically this
the more CpS you have, the less important the "passive boosts" become, It's all about stacking time-limited boosts and getting a crapton of cookies that way. Idling is only for when you can't actively play.
