Note that the only people who can have 100% in the game right now are someone who transferred their save from the browser's version and/or cheaters.
Ascending and being active jumped me pretty high pretty quick, but now that I have all the heavenly upgrades I'm letting it idle more with the veil and golden switch on. It really starts to slow down after 8 trillion prestige levels. Might need to leave it sit for a week before I ascend again and go through the process of reclaiming all the seasonal buffs again.
For one, there's an achievement specifically for having played for over a year. Plus getting enough sugar lumps to level every building to 10 (990 total) takes multiple years on its own. Unless you transferred your save, it just hasn't existed on steam long enough.
EDIT : (depending on how you play it (actively/idling)
Short version :
You'll find yourself ascending a lot in the first stage (0-450 achievements), exploring the game, unlocking mini games, lvling up buildings, getting familiar with ingame mechanics, etc.
The next stage begins at the endgame (450-500 achievements), where youve already ascended for the last time and youre trying to get the transition between Trillion and Quadrillion prestige lvls. This will usually take x4-x10 more time than the first stage.
Last but not least the "true" cheevo-endgame (500-532 cheevos), where baking cookies isnt the main priority anymore, because youve already unlocked all baking related cheevos. Now its about those damn sugar lumps and even active players have to start an idling process for the next months. Now its up to you if you want to speed it up with Sugar Hornets or close the game for at least half a year.
There are also cheevos like "So much to do so much to see", like mentioned by other users, where youve to play at least a year.
And not to mention the shadow cheevos. Thats the point where Ive to draw the line.
Im a cheevo hunter, but not at all costs. 100% means 100% Steam cheevos.
But I salute to all those folks, who are aiming for the shadow ones and a 1000% (thats how I call it),
Click 27,777 golden cookies ? Not on my watch, sir. ^^
when i saw cookie clicker was on steam i expected there to be achievements but when i saw the amount it has i immediately wanted to jump in. i have a very busy year at college with hours a day at a computer to do work so i have the time to run it constantly, even when i have to physically go for only 3 hour days. i just didnt expect it to be so interactive? like having to look at your screen to see golden cookies, i tried to install an autoclicker for golden cookies but it wouldnt work.
seeing "1-3 years" is kinda frightening though.
Given my stats show nearly 270k golden cookie clicks (and I stopped playing for over 5 years), I don't think this is actually one of the particularly bad ones, unless you deliberate avoid clicking during cookie storms (and to a lesser extent chains), or play extremely idle (even without cookie storms it is less than half a year playing during evenings and catching each golden cookie during that time).
It might seem that way, but thats the challenge, right ? I mean, litterally everything can happen during this time and many things will/or maybe not change in your life and I guess it takes some amount of stamina and focus to keep the eye on the ball.[/quote]
Good luck and happy baking. ;)
edit:
Might be the biggest understatement in this forum. I take my hat off to you, sir.
Half a year, every single evening......But still, hard to imagine given that Im playing actively since 300 hours with around 3000 GC clicks.
And Im heading towards a point, where Ive to take a break and idle for a few days or a week. The saturation point is def near.
Fortunately, almost all of my remaining cheevos are sugar lump related and the garden is basically my personal main&end game. (grinding Sugar Hornets) That brings a little bit of variety to my routine but still....Idk.....
I would still say that Seven Horseshoes is more nerve-racking than Endless cycle
1e63 cookies in an ascension is a lot given even using combos things really start to slow down by the 1e57 mark (with prestige in the quadrillions). And then once that is reached you could spend up to a year in a single ascension playing the stock market to get Gaseous Assets (depending on how good you are at it, and how often you check in to buy/sell), that is a lot of time to be picking up Golden Cookie clicks.
