SMT Ending

I have reloaded my save over 500 times now. I have the mental darkness at 100, and I do not meet the 16 ending requirement meaning I have a 1% chance with every reload. Am I missing something??? Is there a reason why I am not triggering the ending? I just accidentally reset my game for the fourth time now, and I'm getting really irritated waiting for this achievement... please let me know if I am missing anything, thank you.

sorry for being extremely late, but no you aren't crazy, SMT is legit dumb and requires you to keep trying to go to a next day (without triggering any Day 10/20/30 ending) with Mental Darkness 100 until you hit the 1%
