So it it not a button that can be toggled between TOP and ANGLE throughout the battle? It just executes one way; until the next battle begins? And, only then, can I put it back to angle again?
If so... that sounds very limiting. I prefer to play in 3d Angle mode. Just, not when I need to direct some actions in battle! I need to 'see' around corners.
In, Final Fantasy: Tactics. We could easily rotate the camera around in 3d angles. To see around corner obstructions to better execute movements. It baffles me in that this game does not offer this.
They added the ability to shift to a top-down view when going to the PSP version, but the animations and all that were designed to play out with the default view in mind. So when someone takes an action, the camera shifts back to the default angle and then back to what you had it at when the action is over.
FFT did the same thing.
What he was talking about with the camera toggling is that you can swap between between default angle or either of the top-down angles, but every battle starts out in the default view instead of remembering what you had it at the end of your last battle.
The J button can be used to bring the top-down view back to the default view that every battle starts in whenever you need to, that and L are the buttons to change the camera angles during battles, there does not seem to be any way to have the camera be permanent on one view or the other without it resetting.
Same here, a top down view is better most of the time for turn-based games and rpg ones as well that use tiles to move units around on.
Thank you for the direction. I appreciate it.
I will try that out later and see if it brings me any convenience to work with.
Strange. My middle-mouse-button does not change the camera angle views at all. Unless having to first go into the sub-menu system every single time to physically change it for a moment.
Not sure what the deal is. There's no sub menuing involved. I'm just in battle, I want to change the angle, and so I press middle mouse and it changes. Works for me in scouting, works when it's my character's turn and the basic menu is up, works when I right click to close said basic menu and see my move range, etc. I tried checking the controls screen and I don't see a function that describes what I'm doing, and I can't seem to bind anything to middle mouse button.
The mouse I'm using is a Logitech G502 Hero. I don't have any fancy settings enabled in its management app, and the middle mouse button hasn't been reassigned to anything. Wish I could help more.
Thanks. Ok I got the middle mouse wheel going now. The way you describe it.
The only thing is. After I change camera angle. As soon that I click on my Character (for his turn), and attempt to make an action. Click. It immediately resets the camera angle to the previous! Like, it wont STAY on the angle that I am trying to keep it on. Weird. Again this only happens once I click on a Character's "action" menu list.
