And I have no way to grind because the game won't allow it at what they think is the max level. No fun allowed, I guess.
This game is starting to become really frustrating. Have they tested it at all? Contemplating on changing my review to not recommended, which is a shame because I think it's a really well made remaster in other aspects. :/
honestly, the battle was pretty easy. he usually won't do anything for 2 rounds (or he'll just use spiritbolt, which is whatever). use mages/archers to hit him from afar and use your frontliners to keep the terror knights from rushing down your ranged characters.
i was able to do it with 3 Mages and an Archer pretty easily. you can also use a lobber to toss spoilspell at him as well, which reduces his magic damage significantly. if you aren't using debuffs, you 100% should. they're ridiculously good.
if you're worried about your casters being one shot by his summon, get a Knight or WK and use Guardian Force to protect them.
The first two turns are spent hanging around the starting point buffing and filling up MP with Fruits of the Adept. If you advance too quickly, you'll run into that wall of Terror Knights and not only will they inflict Fear, but they will be close enough to the healers that a lot of your damage will be mitigated, and you'll be close enough to the Mages and Fusiliers that they will peck away at you.
Honestly I was kind of underwhelmed by Brantyn's magical power. He'd get 3 hits off of his summons on my Frightened characters, and they didn't go down (probably took about 80% of their health). This just means you need to keep everyone who is a likely target topped off when his turn is coming up.
I did this fight on Law and thus had Velocity Shift available on three characters (didn't convert Ozma to get a fourth) which undoubtedly helped. Any Skill cards that show up around you at the start should be given to them to get it to proc more frequently, and those characters need to be placed in such a way that when it does proc, you get maximum benefit.
Anyway, ultimately I put down all the Terror Knights, and some of the backline before finally taking out Brantyn when he charged in.
The griffin flies around to harass the healers or to bait the melee then fly away to heal then repeat. the Octopus has a poison rain skill that hits in a large area and poisons most of the time like 70% of the time for me. All of these units counter attack on their own except spells.
They all have attack rings, 50% healing items, one 100% heal and a rez item. This particular battle was alittle easier than some of the earlier ones for me i killed every one then burned down the boss. Skills i use dragon sight or whatever is called so things don't avoid most of the attack of boulders. hp boost, rampart aura Once i started doing this the game got way easier. for me all human units are trash except beastmaster and lord. I occasionaly use a valkyrie/cleric for the speed boost. Kill all the things.
Its fun when an archer hits the griffon for 50 and the counter attack hits them for 150.
Will try debuffing him though, thanks!
