What's the point of changing class?
Can someone explain? I read that you don't keep the skills you have aquired. So should I only change class if I want specific stat growths for someone?

Shouldn't I just hire 2 or 3 characters who stay in a specific class, instead of class-changing?

In this current version, there is absolutely no reason to change class as you don't gain any stats for using a specific class, and the skills and finishers don't transfer. If you switch between classes that both use swords, It should transfer that, But I haven't changed class, and I don't know if it carries over, even if you switch back. The only reason to do it is to get a class you don't have yet, or they joined in a class you don't want them to be.

It carriers weapon level between 2 classes using the same, so instead to restart from zero - your character will have a bit of level if of course they share same weapon.
I am not sure for the rest if it has any impact.

It SEEMS that every class has its own growth stats as they level up. I've seen multiple comments on that at gamefaqs, but it's too early to say for sure.

If that isn't true, only reason would be to change your weapon style, gain access to new/different spells (Like Exorcism on a heavy undead map) or grabbing a recruiting skill, since they're class specific now.

its difference growth on HP and MP. The other stats growth is not noticeable and sometimes random.
If you want raise melee raise them as warrior, knight, berserker line class to gain more hp.
If you want them as mage use mage class since they will gain more mp *meditate scaled with max mp*

I this version, you may like to change classes for tactics reasons for their unique skills. I.E. Beast Master has the lob ability, allowing them to use items at a range (like FF Tactics Chemists) and you may be on a mission and feel like you could use a character with decent speed and better mobility than a cleric, and the ability to throw a 300 HP healing seed that outheals spells (with the downside of being limited by inventory slots). Or you may decide that you want a second knight so you have more space covered by rampart auras to stop enemies from getting through gaps into your backline, if that specific map makes it harder to defend.

This was the case with the old games, but this version has done away with that from all i've heard. The only way to pump stats is with the green cards and items

What im saying is what happen in reborn. You can confirm that yourself by recruiting generic and raise their level with charm. It will be noticable between when you raise Knight *mostly +25hp +1 mp* And wizard *mostly +5 mp around +13hp.

As for stat str etc they are +2 with randomly +3 per level.

They made it very hard to keep track of things on Reborn, since you don't have access to your base stats anymore. So until somebody does some heavy testing we won't know for sure if stats are like HP/MP or unaffected.

I'll take everything with a grain of salt, since it seems people are assuming that much of what was part of the various other versions is still part of this one. That, and I haven't really noticed much difference in what stats I have gained, and what was attributed to normal growth or class growth or what is actually doing what. There's a lot going on that isn't explained even in the written tutorials, and I haven't spent any time digging through all the information that's out there.

No point at all - they butchered out the freedom, left a messy balanced mechanics and used stupid cards for rng victory.
And all bosses are poorly designed.

I wonder tho... i can kill boss just fine without card. Just utilize what the game give you, 'item'. So far im fine with no incap.

I think the cards are for the benefit of the AI more than you, since that was always a big weak point, and most of the changes seem to be geared toward making the fights more challenging. I don't agree with it, as the game was pretty fun without these changes, and it was the PSP version that created most of the problems they were meant to fix. I think there are better ways to deal with it like giving the game a better AI that doesn't just rush at your weakest units, but this is what we have now, and you'll have to wait another 10 years for them to MAYBE fix it.

sounds like they made the game worse

It's subjective. Some people seem to really like all the changes.
