Yes because you would be able to spam finishers since they run on MP now. They can still be obtained via loot. To be fair, you get increased MP recovery card buffs plus the improved meditate that it doesn't feel much of a hassle but those auto skills can be unpredictable.
They should have just made them either take HP to use like the secret Hell Gate skills from the original (so you wouldn't want to start a fight with them, but finish it, hence the name) or that you could only use them once per battle or something.
TP was a flawed system and overcomplicated things and making them take MP affects spell balance for casters negatively. They weren't an intended part of the original game's design and were such a "we need this game to be different from FFTactics or everyone will think it's a copy like they did in 1998!" move that was ill-conceived from the beginning.
