Prob alittle from A and B
Most AAA games from Japan these days release at about $70 a pop. Even more if it's Koei Tecmo.
People just want all companies to release games at indy dev "at least I'll get exposure" prices.
And then they point at gaming companies and say "they don't pay their employees enough".
In reality, they just feel entitled to free stuff.
That is the tl;dr.
"I've been playing video games for a while and so I should get all the new ones on launch for free."
It's like some kind of psychology experiment on negative reinforcement.
"If they don't make the game exactly as I want it, I'll pirate it."
"If they do make the game exactly as I want it, but I still don't want to pay for it, I'll pirate."
"Man why do game companies keep churning out bad games?"
Answer is simple: you never give them money regardless of what they do, so of course they aren't listening to your opinion.
But gamers are so dumb they'll pay full price for a minor update time and time again
Have some consistency, man.
