Palace of the dead question
I played the palace of the dead 2x, once to unlock , and now again i'm on the 10th floor and haven't got a item drop unique to the dungeon (trying not to spoil).

Are the drop %'s really really low? I've picked up quite a few green luck cards, but still nothing. And, I've been to Deneb's shop two times as well (not sure that matters).

On my phone so don't have the drop list in front of me, but more than that farm spot (the item is minimally useful if it's what I'm thinking) I'd go for winged rings from the gryphons on floor 11 iirc. One of the best accessories in the game, so you'll be farming them anyway.

I just finished that level, I did find a greased ring for water walk. are all the special items in the POTD ones with red backgrounds?

theres 3 classes of items. relic (red) and unique (yellow) cursed (dark purple)

the relics (red ish)are farmable items in POTD.
these drop with randomised stat ranges some ranging from +1 to +30 some items can go higher (by stats i mean like slashing, bludgeoning, piercing values ect + elemental strengths and + damage against enemy types)
you can get as many of the same relic as you want to farm.
you can take these duplicates to shops and under the crafting menu you can combine the duplicates together to increase the stats rolls.
this can also be repeated until you completely max a relics rolls. at which point the item gets a little crown icon and i think the colour of the numbers changes to indicate that its maxed.

the 2nd type is items with yellow backgrounds.
these are unique's with fixed stats and you can only get 1 of each
there is a caveat for the 1 of each rule though. there's also yellow 'unique' consumables and crafting materials. while you can only hold 1 at a time, once you've used the consumable or material you can then farm another.

last type is the cursed items (dark purple) these are like the yellow uniques and are also 1 at a time items.
and from memory i hitnk these follow the same rules as the yellow consumables. once used to create the cursed weapon out of a unit sacrifice you can get another to drop.

as for drop chances none are guaranteed and some are quite low. so multiple runs or chariot farming the drops if you don't care about the 'no chariot title' will be needed to collect everything.

as pickelton said. winged rings are the superior item over warp rings. warp rings movement gets stopped by rampart aura winged rings doesn't. (IMO warp rings animation looks cooler :P)
i also feel that the mobility rings while are decent to get in the beginning become somewhat worthless later on. imo the winged boots are more ideal to wear as there is more beneficial ring and ring slot items to wear instead of the mobility ones.

edit: i guess there's technically also a 4th category for the standard fixed stat items that are also farmable but not upgradable (blue items)

Thank you, that's a lot of good info. I've been playing it blind 'cept where the door was on floor 3, I didn't feel like messing that up. The only other Tactics game i played was the lordly caliber one on the GBA, which was awesome. I love the ogre battle game too. FFT and Vandal hearts are some others I've played but I think I'm growing to love the Tactic Ogre games more now.

It's up to debate, but I prefer the winged rings even at the end-end postgame.
The winged/sidhe boots free up your accessory slot for a weapon skill necklace, but the fixed 1 damage type defense on the boots has me skipping them the majority of times. As far as I can tell, it's generally better to be running ... +25 crushing resist and 10-ish humanoid resist from Winged Ring and Earthen Greaves combo than to have 2/3/2 resists and 5 to all racials from winged boots/weapon neck combo. Only real exception I make are for Fireseal (though usually I give that to someone who can naturally fly) and lobber builds that can use those extra weapon skill points.

heh fair enough. i tend to ignore my defences for the most part. only Voltaire as my main stay knight for the entire game stacks all defensive stats he can to be able to soak anything and everything that needs soaking :)

having played the game on and off for like 30 years i tend to never have any issues surviving anyway and in turn just get the damage stat as high as possible.

the weapon skill necklaces are also quite nice for big lobber damage.

that being said i do like the snipe gator boots on my Archers for extra Boon casts ( i think thats the right boot name)

Denam (and Cautia's i think) necks also used to be much better than they are in TO:R. if i recall correctly they used to have innate immunity's to certain status on them too. now they just have stats.

Update: I'm on floor 18, and I've been getting 1-3 recipes after 15th floor and an item here or there with a red background. 1 cloud and one winged ring, alluring boots, dragon scale shield.

Here's a link to a guide which contains the (notable) loot tables for each Floor, along with the drop rates for each notable piece of loot: https://www.neoseeker.com/tactics-ogre-reborn/guides/Palace_of_the_Dead

For Rare/Relic/Unique equipment attributes, you can consult my Equipment Lists here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1QeEj1TD5eIze9i-HIl4DO6pZ9J3WClmg6n1316MlJts/edit?pli=1#gid=0

I'd recommend making a personal copy of that file to gain access to the dropdown lists embedded in most cells that contain details such as (crafting) ingredient drop locations/chances and explanations for hidden effects on equipment.
