Apologies to Steam mods if not allowed to mention it in Steam discussion boards, but Cheat Engine apparently has a speedup function. I haven't used it myself, but I've seen videos on YouTube of people setting the game to like 30x speed. It makes the game look terrible, but 2x through CE and the in-game 2x should achieve the effect you're looking for without making everyone look like they're tweaking.
i wouldn't be opposed to a faster option (4x). cheat engine apparently works with no errors for TO:R for a 2x speed up.
i think the game has some stuff that breaks when its sped up more.
but i agree with pickle going too overboard with it gets you to a trivialisation point where you kinda ask yourself why am i even playing if im AI-ing battles at 10x-30x speed lol
