Anyone else think we need a 4x speed up

Going through the campaign 2x seems enough.

But with the end game dungeons like 100+ floors Palace of the Dead or the relic farm. I think it would be nice if things can speed up a little more.

Will agree that the game should have 4x speed native. Having massive speed up settings in Disgaea 6 was one of the only additions I liked. Admittedly 32x speed was a bit much in D6, but I think 2x, 4x and 8x would be more than enough for this game.

Apologies to Steam mods if not allowed to mention it in Steam discussion boards, but Cheat Engine apparently has a speedup function. I haven't used it myself, but I've seen videos on YouTube of people setting the game to like 30x speed. It makes the game look terrible, but 2x through CE and the in-game 2x should achieve the effect you're looking for without making everyone look like they're tweaking.

the "fast forward" option in reborn to me feels great as the standard game speed. going back to the games original speed feels like slow-motion lol

i wouldn't be opposed to a faster option (4x). cheat engine apparently works with no errors for TO:R for a 2x speed up.
i think the game has some stuff that breaks when its sped up more.

but i agree with pickle going too overboard with it gets you to a trivialisation point where you kinda ask yourself why am i even playing if im AI-ing battles at 10x-30x speed lol

I like how Disgaea 5 did it, where if you turn off effects, it will still show the attack the first time so you know what it looks like, and holding in RT while commands are going off let you manually show one if you want to specifically see one of them again.
