Where is Nybeth?

Ok, I'm on chaos route, got to the very last floor... and no Nybeth. Could it be because I missed recruiting Cressida?

Less recruiting Cressida, more about doing her whole story. But yes, you must trigger the final flag with Cressida for Nybeth to appear in chaos. IIRC, you get an extra line of dialogue, or maybe it was a different Warren entry.

OMG. So I'm gonna have to run through all over potd from the start? That's insane! I'm guessing all the story battles have to done to trigger the last one on floor 100.
I don't remember Nybeth being missable in the PSX version, though I can't say remember much of the details.
So I guess my best bet is to finish the game, use world to go back to chaos route to recruit Cressida and go for Potd again. I even got the Secrets of the master recipe book.

Your best bet is to do it in lawful route, where you don't need Cressida. Law route is also necessary to open up coda 2+.

Because Nybeth's story was expanded for this version/PSP version, along the CHaos route.

if you do go through again you'll know if you're good and have met the prerequisites when you get to Floor 5 there will be a story battle with Nybeth. if you dont get this battle leave and go follow a guide to make sure what step you are missing.

For sure. Yea, I'll go through it again, though this time I'll take shortcuts. I must've done like 85 out of the 100 floors. I just wanted to get max loot without repeating floors. I'm wondering if I should do it on Chaos again since I'd like to have Cressida. And correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you can only recruit her on Chaos, right?

yeah shes Chaos only.
i did chaos first when i started playing cos its my fave route but i saved her but failed to get the chaos frame high enough and she didn't join.
i followed with POTD and f100 Nybeth (as long as you do the cressida fight and save her she doesnt need to join for nybeth story to continue as long as you've done all the other requirements)

i grabbed her quickly later on when i was in Coda. its far far faster imo to just travel back in chaos coda with Sync off to the Sherri temple fight and make all the choices from there that grant the right chaos frame chaos frame.
ignore the looting at heim castle choice for +15 galgastan
turn down the forbidden magic when talking to Mreuva for +10
and if you still need more just do a fast run of Pirated GY and dont loot the treasure for another +5

then go do the cressida fight. with sync off in coda this all takes less than an hour just rush the battle targets. (little longer if you do Pirates again for that last +5)

its also far nicer to do in coda when you have unlocked being able to see the chaos frame so you know you're good to go.

death march method is imo painful

Could just world back to chapter 1 and breeze through the game with level sync off. Iirc your cf resets to 50 across the board if you do that.

Bring a party of lvl5 or lvl1 Galgastani zombies and 1 or 2 high levels, so that the enemy will still knock out a few as you autobattle your way. Probably hit like 80 cf before you get to Cressida. I accidentally hit 100 on my file ...



Also, you couldn't miss Nybeth in PSX version because there was no post game. You could only do PotD in chapter 4, and entering hanging gardens was point of no return for saves.

I can certainly say that the game doesn't lack options post-game.
