I guess Cerya is just super pissed at Oz, still. XD
Gryphons have high HP and not so great defensive ratings, so they work really well as damage sponge ambulances.
Yup, the leadened definitely doesn't help. But why is she so bad at directions
If the coding is made similar to Disgaea 6, could add 2 turns of "Move towards Denam > Use Item" and give her a basin item for fortify and a somewhat higher rank healing item. The fortify would help her survive the first turn if the enemy decide to go for her, and then she'd heal it up and keep going towards you on the 2nd turn. By then you should be at least close enough to attract the enemy's attention.
For escort maps, I like to run both an undead and regular gryphon. They have high HP and low defense, so the enemy will prioritize hitting them. The undead in particular will have lower defense and get focused first, but it can be sacrificed due to enemy never having exorcism. Can give the gryphons healing/buff items as well, and you almost never have to worry about them getting knocked into pits outside of the rare case where they're leadened.
I ended up upgrading everyone's equipment with the infinite Goth exploit. It'll increase everyone's move distance and it's mainly about getting any flying unit (I used Canopus, didn't have anyone else) in between Oz's soldiers. Even better if you have high healing items in case the unit you send can't use healing spells. As for dealing with Oz, using Dynast King's Mead on him helps a lot since it puts him into Breach status.
First thing, make sure you have a few hawkmen. Beastmasters and Clerics are helpful because they can move further and higher. Go to the Deepwoods if you need to recruit some more.
Second thing, upgrade your gear and equip beastmasters with salves/seeds. Upgrade staffs to increase spell range (helpful for your clerics) and leg/foot gear so you can get more movement range. The salves/seeds should almost serve as full heals. Might need to craft a few +1 or +2's.
Third thing, try to move up to the stairwell and block off the enemies from coming down. It can be a bit hectic but if you can hold the position for long enough you can get your team up the wall and have better space to handle defense and offense.
Final thing, pray for luck with the AI. Cerya will do some stupid ♥♥♥♥ sometimes, and other times she will move exactly where you want her. Just try to body block the enemy and her from reaching each other while maintaining heals and focus damage on the Dark Knight leader.
As mentioned in other posts you can exploit too but you don't have to. Use some debuff/buffing items too so Oz is weakened etc etc.
Goodluck!
