I don't know anything that sounds more torturous than playing the entire palace of the dead on normal speed.
The normal, ingame fast mode is not fast enough. Setting the auto skill animations to the short ones (or off I think is also an option) speeds things up a bit, but imo still not fast enough.
I'm guessing these are the people playing with A.I. on.
I'm waiting for that Oz+Ozma fight with just the A.I., along with most of Chapter 4.
Thing is, maps are big, there are plenty of units, just waiting for them to move around takes time. The auto skills take time, the item use (need to get that magick leaf at round 1!) takes time, ect ect.
It's not so much of a problem in FFT for example, since often the maps are small, and you have 3-5 units, and are fighting more or less the same amount of enemies.
Here you can have 12 and might be fighting even more than that.
Yea, it's slow.
Take Brigandine, it's slow by default between movement and action animations, but in the options it can be sped up and is then exceedingly 'playable' for speed. Hell, even if they had a selection like in some of the Disgaea games where for the first time an ability was used it showed the full animation, then, didn't. *shrugs* Honestly that's my only real complaint... I mean the level cap sucks, but that's due to their redoing things so there is a logic to it... unlike the crawl-like speed.
There's an option to turn on simple skills, or something, and fast forwarding already improves the speed by 2X, at least
And guess what? Yup, still slow.
Then maybe you should play a game like COD, they can satisfy your lust for speed.
