Shrine Quest Rewards Underwhelming?

Is it just me or these rewards are kind meh except for a few exceptions? Like its allot of trouble to go through for gear that's like 3 or 5 points more strong than stuff you can just outright buy? I feel like the game just wasted my time.

You do the quests primarily for shaman and the apocrypha but I've personally found some useful recipes

The first time clear felt like a mid-way stopping point before you get gear from potd. The first time clear charm victory rewards are pretty easy and worthwhile though.

When you reclear them, the bosses have a chance to drop stronger versions of the spells they previously drop that have some really good damage and larger range. Dread Vapor II is basically a stronger Acid Rain III and etc. They also drop really good weapons too. I think Vainateya dropped a 130 attack claw weapon that's comparable to something you get in potd's later floors.

I agree with you though. First time rewards are underwhelming but just a stopping point.

They aren't that good, specially comparing it to mid lv PotD but Shaman class is totally worth it.

They do. I got mine before reaching coda (both the tier 2 apocrypha and the weapon).

On my way through clearing them all for the first time. When can you reclear them for farming? Right after you finish all 6 the first time or do you have to wait for post-game?

The second clear sounds absolutely brutal if you are doing a no-chariot run since they removed save scumming.

Can you retreat from those battles? I'm guessing yes on the second time through, but that's about your only in-game strategy to prevent playing through 5 or 6 levels to get one single chance at the drops.

Im trying to get the earth shrine boss to drop earthquake 2 but all hes giving me are oracle marks

Never mind I just got it. What a pain. Definitely allot easier during coda 2 when you're much higher level than they are.

at union level 40. not at 35 least thats how it was for me i tried to chariot scum the crops for ages at 35 on 2nd clear couldn't get anything to drop. did it again at 40 and got drops with ease
