I find it hard to tell my units apart from the enemy
Is there a simple way to make my units stand out more?

Name them something unique when you hire them

I'll give that a try and see if it helps.

My biggest gripe is all units kind of blend together and it makes strategizing difficult.

Lol, eventually your team will no longer have generic units.

I never understood why they still haven't given you more unit customization options despite this being the second time this game has been remade. Hell, you can't even rename your units after recruiting them.

You're the blue/green guys. Kill the pink guys.

Because no one uses generics.

this. its in the game options. theres 2 modes for it a blue and red (yours and theirs) hp bars adn then theres a version that colours the bars based on unit element which imo is kind of a mess to look at lol

Lol, must be why I keep reading people having issues clearing the game. They keep using ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Generics instead of the Uniques.

Iirc clicking right stick toggles which bars. I don't have issues generally, since I usually move all of my characters myself, so I leave in the elemental colored bars since it's pretty.

Generics can be stronger statwise than uniques if you're using the same ones all game, since stat cards and charms are things.
That said, almost all uniques have lower RT than generics, so they are objectively better in terms of potential. Getting a faster turn can help turn the tables, and generally translates into getting a few "extra" turns over the course of a battle.

Who in their right mind would ever spend charm on Generics? Or Cards.
