It got me confused at first as well.
How do I export them to "the faction"? I don't see an option to move them to the faction.
If I'm going to be in a faction by default why on earth would they not already be there. this seem like a poor design don't understand why the dev moved to this.
Never mind, I figured out how to do it, It listed as "upload".
"most requested feature" I always see this when people start questioning things that a Dev does. know what I never see... A bunch of requests for said feature.
Here is a new feature request "don't default into a faction at the start of a game" and "a way to leave a faction" both options need to allow us to use our "My Blueprints" and "my Behaviors" instead of "faction" as we won't be in a faction.
I'm playing SP, I don't need to be in a faction, don't want to be in a faction, It's annoying having to copy all my BP's and behaviors to the "faction" that I didn't ask to be in to start with and then, make a behavior/BP test it then remember to copy it to my ____.
The Faction library vs My library main difference is what is stored in the save and what is stored in the "player settings" (the profile). The faction library is needed to be able to link behaviors and blueprints to the current units, so that when you edit one, it applies to all the "deployed" ones. And the "my library" is required to save all your blueprints and behaviors from game to game. So both libraries are needed even in SP.
A different thing would be that, when trying to use them, the UI could show both libraries at the same time. This has been discussed on discord and devs said that they want a solution to be "simple" to understand, and that the current version is the best they could do with the limited time they had, but they also said that this may be revisited in the future.
The way it was before was fine, it didn't need changing. This was a poorly designed change that added unnecessary complication to the BP and Behavior system rendering the "MY Blueprints and MY behaviors folders" and subsequently everything within them useless to me. I have too many of both to upload every time I start a new game, it's faster AND easier to just redo them as I need them.
I have no other games that can't use my BPs and/or scripts without having to copy the whole library to a specific save while keeping a Separate copy for my Profile that doesn't even copy from the save I'm playing. If this is the way it's going to stay, it should (asking first) copy everything from the My______ folders into the Faction folders on loading a save and (again after asking) copy it back on exit.
We are always making improvements on the system based on feedback and one thing you should be able to do is upload an entire folder instead of one blueprint at a time.
You can bypass it by applying the blueprint to selected units through the interface for importing libraries but that is a pain in the butt to deal with and I highly doubt was the way the game was intended to be written. I assume the developers wanted it so that you can use your library imports once imported within the same interface as the select behavior template interface. Otherwise most people would have a hard time figuring out how to do it the back doors method I used, through the import template interface.
