1) Research a tech that grants obsidian mining access (it will show in theu nlock list)
2) Medium Mining Laser (Human Extraction Tech or Re-simulator Medium Turret + Virus Cubes)
3) Ability to operate in the blight... Either the Tech that lets you build (if your going to build a base) in the Blight OR a Blight Charger Internal on the bot to allow it to go in properly.
The Blight has 2 density levels.
- The basic level lets units move through & buildings get built but they suffer performance degradation without the Charger installed... This is where you would typically set up your harvester bases to collect blight gas.
- The deeper level has electromagnetic interference that prevents units from accessing it until you get I think its the 2nd tech on the right side of the Blight tree (the one that actually needs obsidian). This will stop mining lasers from targeting chunks within it... You might have to scout around for an obsidian chunk that isn't as deep in the blight to get started on that tech.
