Start a new game (you can now disable them as part of the start world options). Or if you already have a save, you can download a mod that does it

Or just wait to you get the tech that allows you to bypass the mini games. (Infected circuits)

Getting to the infected circuits is fairly easy and early on, prb within 2hrs of play. I think a lot of players have not realized that technology later on allows for full on automation with explorables.

I have been playing for 12 hours and have a substantial bas but yet to see anything that gives me infected circuits. I have uncovered a sizable chunk of the map as well.

Are you playing on passive bugs by chance? usually the infected circuits will drop from bug kills. You can also find them in explorables. As soon as you find one, it gives you the recipe to make them, which isn't resource intensive - its just green circuits and chitin (the stuff that drops from some dead bugs or killed bug holes/hives). Every infected circuit board allows solving an explorable without doing the mini puzzle and you can automate a bot to scout searching for explorables and auto-solving them, then bringing whatever they find back on repeat. Its so neat how much is possible in this game :D

Yes on passive but aggroed them a while back and they have been attacking ever since but only dropping chitin

Have you killed any Glitch Bots yet? On second thought it might actually be the glitch bot kills that initially unlock the infected circuits.

My apologies, its the glitch bots that drop the infected circuit board when you shoot them before in range to get infected. When you pick up the first one, it gives you the recipe to make them.

And the bug/hole/hive kills drop the chitin which is one of the ingredients for making the infected circuit board.

I guarantee you have seen notifications "An anomaly has been detected."

Click on that notification and follow it to a glitch. Bring a turret and shoot the glitch down. The bot will drop an infected circuit.

The first pickup is required to unlock the "Virus" tree and crafting of infected circuits, which take drops from the bugs (chitin) plus I think crystal.

Nope not at all. Just found my first glitch bot today way out on the outside of the map. Not sure how big the map is but I was way out there. Soon after I got the anomaly detected but it wasn't a glitch bot. It was a building which had scrolling gibberish. Hit it and it solved it and gave me a power transmitter.
Anyway finally got my glitch bot I needed. Found factories and stuff along the way which I need the scanner for which is my next technology anyway.

The map is effectively infinite (procedurally generated). Maybe you just got a *really* bad seed. I've start 8 total game saves so far and in every single one of them, before the 2 hour mark I've gotten a notice about an anomaly because a mining troupe got to the edge of my fog of war.

In my one playthrough, I unlocked the Virus tech tree when one of my bots wandered near a glitch bot and got infected.

Glitch bots are not too uncommon. You keep exploring the rainy plateau with silicon regions and you'll find one. Maybe killing them for the infected circuits they drop is enough, but getting one of your bots infected will definitely do it.
