How to Unlock the Alien Technology Tree？

I have interacted with everything on the map that can be interacted with, and I have clicked on all the technologies. I still cannot unlock the alien technology tree. Are there any special conditions

did you actually kill and loot an alien, not the bugs?
You need to have Blight shield researched to explore the blight.
In the blight are stationary alien turrets, they have relatively high single target DPS, so beware when fighting it the first time.

Is there a way to do it in peaceful mode? I have no defenses built up and I'd rather now do much of that.

the aliens do not move or have any units, they are rooted into the ground. either run in and fire away, or tech up and out range them to kill them outright. the tech is made from corpses of the aliens within the blight.

Okay, I didn't even attack anything that wasn't actively attacking me

And it seems like after a certain stage of the game, I haven't seen any newly refreshed alien events

the game is not yet balanced around peaceful mode. You need certain materials from dead units.
You can attack bugs, virus and curious bots even in peaceful mode and they will turn hostile. After that you can turn the peaceful again via the options menu.
Aliens won't turn peaceful by that setting. But since they don't have moving units and are only in the blight you can avoid them.

Ok, so i did that, took hours, and even got 25 extra to make 5 Alien Datacubes, but it does not open for further research. Am i doing something wrong, or is it not implemented further? Do not want to spent several more hours hunting for Alien loot, if it does nothing.

I digged really into the map and every blight (not in peaceful mode), finished every "quest", but alien is still closed and didnt find anything.
Any tips?

As it says in-game, it's not implemented yet. The devs are still working on it.
