Are there some sort of deconstructor for items?

I got the 1 for building. its great.. but what about all the lower tier items i have...
wish i could turn them into parts again :)

did i miss something.. are there a machine for this ?i am researching last starge of advanced research now (the rock (Large slot robot, is in that 1)

There is one, but its a spoiler.

Spoilers. Either get full access to the human tree or early access to the virus tree (spoilers for both methods): You'll need to get a Trilobyte -- the smallest bug there is. So either using the hacking tool to hack the bug, or get the Virus Hive thing to make it (the one that makes Virus data cubes). If you can't create the bug yet, go kill more bugs. Once you have a Trilobyte, have it pick up an item off the ground, and it'll poop out items into it's base components.

ah pritty fare into game.. and i must say.. dang 40 hours going and i only at frist tree you start with and the blight... !!!not even gotten to the other trees yet

The game is a bit odd that way. Everything that moves is considered a "Frame" most buildings are considered frames as well. Every frame can be hacked.

The recycling method listed in the spoiler is, as near as I can tell, pretty lossy, and also unreliable. I was trying to recycle Small Antennas that way, and nothing was happening.

There is a "Component Recycler" in the virus tech tree, which I assume does what you want, but it is not yet implemented.
