5: Maybe it has to do with how you set them up. My miners do their mindless job extremly well, besides the dual miner bug that was fixed with todays patch.
6: The coding language is not naive, it is still a work in progress of course. Documentation is bad because *drum roll* its an Early Access game that released 2 days ago! This will expand over time. Todays patch added a few things to it and over time quite a lot of new instructions will be added..
Thats a cool idea for mass deconstruction. A second bot with a Portable radar set to pick up Dropped Items and dump them somewhere. Cleans up anything left on the ground.
Storage of that cleanup bot gets filled and it cant pickup more? expand the storage by chaining multiple storages in a row. Still problems with that cleanup scrap resources? Make a solution to force recycled material into your factory lines. Etc etc
If I read it correctly with todays patch you can disassemble materials back into its construction mats, making it even easier to put them in some production line.
no way to update bots has a solution too: make a building that crafts the new bot. Put a deconstruct component on it or nearby. Drive bot to the building, break it apart. Funnel the mats into the botcrafting building. Add new materials if needed, craft new bot. Done.
If its only settings you can copy paste them onto new bots. If you only add a component you can do that with a little behaviour that auto-adds for example solars on any bot that drives by.
You create the solutions to problems you create on your own, the game has the tools to allow you to do it.
Hmm, interesting. Hadn’t thought about those ideas. Will try them out.
Oh, and learn to test your programs before you roll them out in bulk.
This is the frustration I’m taking about. And you skipped the steps where you have to find the damn things.
And how would you set a signal on 60+ bots for them to do anything? And what if you only want to find half of them?
I acknowledge your point that se solutions will exist.
You can acknowledge my point that those solutions are clunky, frustrating at large scales. Hell I’m just done with the first tier of stuff and the base is already unmanageable.
What was this bug? I was using dual miners
