then yer always just watching everything zoom fast lightspeed and its not even enjoyable

All speed-up controls would do is skip over the first round or so of that production and get frustrated again when the next tier of research requires more.
If it's worth doing, it's worth overdoing.
Disagree as at least early game this isn't feasible due to the bottleneck of the slots in the buildings.
I AM the guy with 200 burner drills in factorio as i want to massively jump start production before I have the proper tech,
This game doesn't really let you do that due to extremely limited storage size and building slot restrictions.
Like you can EITHER have a fabricator and assembler OR research at the beginning of the game.
Just seems super restrictive and slow...
