Power Transmitter
I thought this would power a drone if it goes outside the grid, but that does not seem to be the case. Can you explain what it does?

Nevermind it works. Though I think there is a bug because if you have 2 pointed to the same unit it stops receiving power.

well, I mean, you know what they say, dont cross the beams!

I also have the problem that the unit doesnt receive any power, and i dont have 2 on the same unit.
Does it have a specific range?
I wanted to have a battle squad with 1 as mobile power grid which receives the power and distributes it to the other bots

maybe it needs a receiver or similar. I haven't played with it, but the radio transmitter things have two parts, sending and receiving. Maybe it can only charge equipped capacitors or batteries and needs them on the unit to receive power.

TO be honest, i'm also not seeing how it works,

It may be a speed limit. Once you unlock the Large Power Transmitter, it includes text that says that it transmits 500 power to a target. I'd imagine then that the medium is probably only sending 50 or 100, so with a large squad, it'd be fairly worthless. The large version seems to work fine with 3 units with poles supplying a small army.

Its 100, and as another user indicated, One unit cant receive from 2 poles. Got it figured.

For a miner group you'll probably need 4.

The medium transmitter is limited to 100. A single cub uses 20. If the group is too big, a single medium can't keep up.

By transmitting power from both of the two power transmitters to a single unit, the supply exceeded the consumption and the power transmission was ideal.
It appears that multiple power transmitters are required for a single unit due to the limited supply per power transmitter.

It's been my experience that you can point multiple power transmitters at a single bot, it just doesn't show the power in the UI correctly.

I've tested this with a remote mining operation fetching blight crystals. I point 3 of the power fields at my commander with a small power field and capacitor equipped. The capacitor still charges, and the commander extends its power through the power field at the 5 twinbots it's coordinating.

I might be crazy. But I've never seen them go offline as long as my main facility isn't also offline.

I am transmitting into same bot from 2 other bots, but that receiver has a medium battery in it that can hold... what was it, 20000 energy? Enough to receive 2 x 100 energy right?

And i know it's working because 7 twin miners are completely reliant on it and they are full of power.

I think the problem people might be having is the unit that's being targeted not having some kind of battery or capacitor.

The internal draw rate for most of the workers I've seen is 25 unless supplemented. I imagine if the power transmitter is shooting into a worker with a power field mounted, the bottleneck is that worker can only itself supply 25 power unless you mount a battery on it.

Maybe. I'm just guessing here because I'm not set up to test that right now.

Hi all quick question worth 25 quid on early access? Seem steep for an incomplete game especially as we only get "discount" on release?
darkmathis Aug 21, 2023 @ 10:04am
"Incomplete."

I don't regret the money I've put into this. The game is a bit opaque, but there's depths to be had in behavior programming to optimize factory uptime.

I already have 60 hours in the game from the weekend, but I played at least 300 hours on both the alpha and beta releases over the last year-ish.

This is a game like Factorio, where you get out what you put in and the toolkit gives you free reign to set your own challenges.

The 20000 is only Capacity (acutally it is 15000 for a small batterie, together with the internal storage it would be 20000). What matters more should be the charge rate. In case of a small battery thats 375. So the 2x100 should still be able to be used 100% for charging the battery.
