How to add new prefab blueprints?

Not seeing any way to add more in the game, just to edit the ones it gives you.

1. Under the existing prefab list there's a translucent "ghost" entry listed as "Unnamed", on the right side there is a [+] symbol where you can start editing a new prefab.
2. If you select a building/unit then open the library a new "ghost" entry will show up for the selected building/unit, and a symbol on the right will make a new prefab from it.

There is no ghosted icon for me to create a new prefab, nor is there a way for me to edit an existing prefab.
