I think metro overall is somewhat niche (Exodus is probably a bit more known but even then) and the majority of gamers don't even have VR.
Not really understanding the business decision behind this but it's a pass for me too either way.
I dont think its niche, its just singleplayer games and popularity tend to always lead to them being semi forgotten about.
exodus is imo an amazing game both in terms of visuals and gameplay even today, and I just played the first 2 as well and they are both also great experiences despite showing their age.
but VR is asking a lot even from returning fans because then you are asking for people to not only buy the game but also a VR headset, and hardly anyone is willing to multiple hundreds usd$ for a single game.
