stuttering... anyone else?
i'm experiencing some random stuttering while playing, alone with some audio micro cuts.

My system is as follows:
RTX 3060 Ti
I5 8600K @5GHz
16GB RAM 3000Mhz

Playing on Windows 10, latest Nvidia drivers & Windows updates. Tried several settings but the problem persists.
Anyone else is experiencing the same as me? Thanks in advance.

Op's ram frequency isn't "very low" and most likely not his issue. Try closing any unneeded background programs.

Still no riva tuner to track the stats
No it isn't, I played this game before on a different pc with a 2070 and 3200 mhz ram and had no stuttering. No idea where you get that you need atleast 3600 mhz.

I played the OG on 2666 (the 'other' number of the beast)

What's your typical fps? If you're using gsync, enable vsync from the driver as well.

after i changed from 3200 (dont remember old timings) to 3600 18 19 19 39 ive got 10-12 fps more on average and stutters nearly gone. My ram is bare minimum these days

DDr4's standart is 3600 14 16 16 32 . ddr5's standart is 6000 30 40 40 40. Everything below considers under perfomance. This is how it works according to the testers.

If thou got better resources im listening

Better learn how ur own platfrom works, we are PC users not console peasants
What you posted is about performance not necessarily stuttering. OP isn't complaing about low fps....

HDD or SSD? This game, particularly with the Enhanced edition, really hates HDDs. The game constantly loads objects in and out of view which can cause frequent stuttering if installed on a Hard drive. Installing the game on an SSD will eliminate most of the stuttering.

If a solid state drive isn't in your possesion, I recommend you play the original game instead as it is less intensive than the enhanced edition, your save file will carry over.

Been out for some days. I'll show you in a moment screenshots with the stuttering i'm talking about. RAM is 2x8 3000MHz @ 16-18-18-38 btw. Don't think this is the problem as I don't have any issues with other games.

I'm playing it on a Samsung 960 EVO SSD 1TB.

Tried the original and no stutter, it runs nice on ultra 1440p HW + Physx no Ray Tracing on DX12.

I think the problem is my CPU. Perhaps it's causing some bottleneck. By the end of the year i'll be upgrading to Ryzen 7 7800X3D so there's no point in investing on a better DDR4 RAM as for now.

Funny, you and I have the same drive.

Yes I also did notice that you have a 6-core CPU. I believe the system requirements for anything above 40fps recommend an 8-core processor for enhanced. However, I was running the enhanced edition with a 4-core for a shortwhile with minimal stuttering even if the framerate could barely get above 40 when overlooking the whole playable area (like the crane and lighthouse). Ray-tracing requires a lot more CPU resources than rasterisation so it's understandable.

Yes it's probably because of the CPU, but I also think It has to do with the shader cache dx12 stuff. The only way to test It is with a different CPU. Anyway it's not something unplayable. Perhaps i'm too picky with performance.

RTX 3070, consistent frames until it hiccups with a stutter here and there. Annoying when you pay attention to it.

Yes that's my problem! I'll show you some screenshots tonight. What's tour CPU? Did you try original versión? It works withour hiccups for me.

I forgot to mention, but I guess you might find it of use. The only stuttering I get is opening the lighter for the first time after starting the game and also that one spot on Volga, when you are walking with Anna before she mentions the rabbit on the road. Other than that its pretty smooth actually. BTW I have 13700k and 2x16gb DDR5.
Same problem here though mine are unnerving since the stuttering and audio cut happen every 3-4 seconds just long enough to know it happens. It begins only from the main menu and will follow through the game. I was curious and test something by putting everything to the lowest with dlss on ultra perfomance but it is still doing it no matter what the settings are. I think this is the only game that I got that have RT. In comparison even 40k Darktide that is ressource heavy and not very much optimised does not do that on max settings.
RTX 3080 msi
i5-13600k
4x8gb G.SKILL Trident Z RGB ddr4 3600MHz
ASUS TUF Gaming Z690
(funny enough) Samsung 960 EVO SSD 1TB
I honestly dont think that I am the problem here tbh but this thread is the closest of what happen to me, furthermore it is the only game doing it that hard.

For 'audio cut' take a look at what worked for me in Frostpunk :

Sorry, by reading what I wrote, I did not clarify very well (English is not my native language). To put it another way, the game is micro-freezing every 3-4 seconds for maximum 0.5 second.
