Black Screen DLC The Two Colonels

My game gets a black screen right after the New Year's countdown where the power failure of the tree occurs.
I have done everything, c++, drivers, updates, new game, run as adm, compatibility, run in windowed and nothing solved. I did absolutely everything.
Has anyone with this problem solved it?

It's a known bug. Maybe turn your Settings down before it happens, disable Full Screen Optimisation too.

I already did.
I am very disappointed, because I was enjoying the game very much, but I really can't solve this problem.
I have never experienced this in a game before.

There doesn't seem to be any one answer unfortunately, different people have used different solutions. Changing resolutions, switching DX versions, changing RT settings, even re-installing.

I have done all of these except v-sync.

Nothing! The lights go out, everything goes dark, and it doesn't come back. This is clearly a technical problem of this game, because it is very specific. It only happens at that exact point.

I've played my whole life and have never experienced a problem like this, "with no solution", even games that are known to be buggy I've been able to play, but this one I can't.

The bug has been present for years in the game and has never been fixed. What should I think of this 4A Games?

There are only so many suggestions I can make. If you have the data you could download the Standard game and play the DLC on that, there's no guarantee it won't happen on that game too though, both games have the bug. I've played The Two Colonels a few times on two different rigs and had very few problems so i think you shouldn't give up, there is a solution for you, you just need to be patient and find it. You can only try, right?

Did as follow. Works for me. 1,2,3 steps
Run via MetroExodus.exe that is change for win "8"

Win 11, 3060ti, 5600X

What worked for me was:
1. Setting ...\Steam\steamapps\common\Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition\MetroExodus.exe > Properties > Compatibility > Run for Windows 8 and disable fullscreen optimizations.
2. Might not be needed, but I used 1080p resolution with all settings as low as possible
3. Loading a save before the blank screen point

Didn't work for me:
- Raytracing on High
- Nvidia Experience recommended setting
- Reopening app with different settings and save/load points
- Disabling overlay from steam and Nvidia Experience
- Disabling Windows game bar
- Changing resolutions
- Etc.

I abandoned the DLC at the time because of that bug.
It seem that they didn't fixed it yet.

i am very disappointed this was not addressed, I really enjoyed the main game and wanted to expand that further with the DLC.

If anyone else is still dealing with this, I was able to get past it by limiting the game to 60 fps. I wasn't able to get framerate limits to apply so I had to drop my monitor to 60 Hz with vsync, but it got me past the black screen.

I abandoned it at the time and never went back.
I was loving the DLC, but I simply couldn't solve this problem at the time.
The saddest thing is to see the company's disregard for the game itself.

After switching all graphical options to their lowest posible level or off, starting it on compatibility mode with windows 8, disabling full screen optimizations and starting it on dx12 without success I finally managed to "overcome" the black screen by limiting the game FPS with the NVIDIA control panel to 60.

Was the solution just limiting the game to 60 fps or the conjunction of all the changes? No idea.
