I very very VERY much appreciate newer games like this which give hints and clues on where to go next without needing to have the HUD or map to tell you where to go (similar with Assassins' Creed: Odyssey).
Graphics are awesome on 21:9 at 1600p (especially the winter scenery), FPS mechanics felt a bit more like Metro 2033 (original ver) and I appreciate that.
I appreciated that the loot was generally more realistic when adventuring to every corner (no insanely good loot just for looking in a non-main area).
Only real gripe is that on Ranger Hardcore some of the QTE and action mechanics using wasd are completely unknown and guessed on this first playthrough of mine.
It would have been nice if Artyom was given some dialogue, or better yet had a Mass Effect/Fallout text convo response system. But they made the decision in Metro 2033 to be completely silent, so maybe it'd be weird to suddenly change it up?
Also, Anna became instantly soft toward Artyom after the first few chapters of Last Light. By the end, she practically became Waifu in the Pandemic chapter, clearly showing that the hardness we first saw of her was not her true self. Makes 1000% sense for a girl to be hard like that toward a new partner on a military mission.
Semi open world. When you get past the first area, you have semi open world section where you can grind for parts. It's not like in say uncharted that has small rooms/hallways.
Sure it has decent sides, but overall it loses compared to the previous metros.
Story one downside, its too flat and forseeable, the open sky levels are sure interesting, but thats not metro anymore, it misses the atmosphere of the first two.
Besides i cant skip cutscenes which is real annoying in my now 3rd time.
edit,: i noticed now again besides not skippable cutscene what i hated most, they treat me like a little child and Anna is more manly then Artyom is, always talking talking talking, want to take the lead and block my way, accuse me of BS, and shes just cringe and annoying at the same time, while Artyom can do all the crap work. Anna was fine in the second metro, but they overdone it.
Only halfway in volga zone currently but was often close to quit and uninstall, just want to get the enhanced version done too.
- excluding one DLC
Agree fully, these braindead fallout players constantly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ where muh HUD. Obviously missed Annas development in LL and want Artyom to talk because they are afraid of projecting their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ selves onto the protagonist and just want some Duke Nukem type main character to drown out the monkey clashing cymbals in their head.
