Am I missing out a lot of stuff by not playing this version?
Unfortunately, my laptop's GTX 1660 Ti can't run the Enhanced Edition, but at least it can run the original Metro Exodus on 1080p Ultra with around 30-60 FPS, and it still looks incredibly stunning, especially with LumaSharpen and Curves provided by ReShade.

Its a graphical upgrade only.
Story and and mechanics are the same.

Unless you consider ray tracing something to be missing out on, you are not missing anything besides upgraded ray tracing visuals.

Not missing much same game, just more RTX stuff for RTX gpus and better RTX performance, and a fov slider.

Alright then, thanks for your answers. The original game still looks incredibly gorgeous even without RTX.

Yep, the original game still looks amazing. The RTX one does look better but other than a load of graphical bells & whistles you're missing nothing about the story, characters etc. The original is still a great game.

Raytracing is so overhyped. I don't know why a developer would remake a game just to implement it. The buy-in to see these effects is excessively high for what they deliver.

Ah, you must be the guy still using the steam powered kettle :steamfacepalm:

Raytracing + DLSS is fantastic. Games look more natural, which in turns mean far more immersive. It does for graphics what softbody physics has done for motion.

Yeah, and I think they are just jealous because they do not have an RTX-capable card.

Great reply to the previous idiot.

If you want to play the game with ray tracing, then this version looks way better IMO. if your card doesn't have ray tracing support then you should just download the original version since the enhanced edition won't even boot without ray tracing support. Everything else about the 2 versions of the game are, as far as I can tell, completely identical, so you're not really missing out on anything that you'd otherwise have access to by playing the original version.

He made a point that the entry point to use this stuff is excessively high and they are correct. 1,500 just for a 3080 here.

Nvidia still have original pricing on their site. You can't blame general GPU pricing on raytracing, when we know it's down to a combination of a pandemic and mining. JFYI my ASUS 3080 TUF OC, one of the best AIB models cost £720 while the FE costs £649. Entry level 3060Ti FE is just £369.

Yeah best of luck getting one, some of us work and cannot be here refreshing a web page.
I just pre-ordered the following day after launch. Gave me a little time to check reviews first.
