Story and and mechanics are the same.
Yep, the original game still looks amazing. The RTX one does look better but other than a load of graphical bells & whistles you're missing nothing about the story, characters etc. The original is still a great game.

Raytracing + DLSS is fantastic. Games look more natural, which in turns mean far more immersive. It does for graphics what softbody physics has done for motion.
Nvidia still have original pricing on their site. You can't blame general GPU pricing on raytracing, when we know it's down to a combination of a pandemic and mining. JFYI my ASUS 3080 TUF OC, one of the best AIB models cost £720 while the FE costs £649. Entry level 3060Ti FE is just £369.
