I have a Macbook Pro and have the requirements for the game, but it keeps crashing back to the Steam Main Menu. Any suggestions on how to fix?

So I just got the game today and one of the first things that caught my attention when I opened the menu was that there was a place to change your flag. I thought to myself "oh cool, I like flags", so I clicked around for a bit and the game crashed HARD. I couldn't exit, couldn't alt-tab, I couldn't even pull up task manager, it was that bad... for flags. Gonna be honest this one kinda baffles me....

It's been a while since there was any kind of update...
