Music is good, but maybe they reused a bit too much.
Characters are great, aside from Tianzhushan characters and some people that are somehow missing (Gongsun Zan, some others)
Combat is good too, aside from some weird animations.
Story...barebones and I don´t agree with their decisions (Diaochan, Lu Bu for example)
They certainly cut some corners
Just a small correction, "after Nioh 2 every following title..." "Wo Shlong" >3
Nioh 2 was absolutely better than Nioh in pretty much all aspects. Nioh was decent start but the game felt bit shallow and was lacking in proper end-game. Nioh 2 fixed that and added lot of good gearing options, complex combat mechanics to master and solid build creation options.
Nioh 2 ofcourse expands on the combat, and the graphics.
But I think I still like 1 better.
this
It's like a massive upgrade in every aspect
The drop in quality at Team Ninja started with Stranger of Paradise and continues with Wo Long.
Rise of the Ronin, Team Ninja's open world game, is coming out next year. If it's another b-team low budget low quality game like SoP and Wo Long I will just write off Team Ninja as a one-hit wonder.
It's directed by the same guy that directed Nioh 2 so I'm assuming it's not a B team project. Wo Long wasn't.
Though it can easily be a failure since it's their first attempt at an open world instead of just missions
It's not directed by the same guy...
Look at the credits:
Nioh 2 is directed by Fumihiko Yasuda.
Wo Long is directed by Masakazu Hirayama and Hidehiko Nakajima.
Yasuda is the president of Team Ninja so he's involved in Wo Long as a producer but he's not director like he was in Nioh 2. That's probably because he's busy working on Rise of the Ronin with the rest of the A team.
