Tbh, having played lots of Nioh 1, I feel the port level is identical.
It's basically a classic Team Ninja/Japanese PC port, that is, really barely ported to PC.
But all these problems kind of disappear if you use a controller and play it like if you have an XBOX or PS5.
I was actually surprised that I had PC prompts in the menus and not X/Y/B console stuff like Nioh lol.
Name a PS4 console game that has been properly ported to PC without simply lazy conversion of coding.
More reason to down vote, right? I mean should we except such standards as the norm now?
Yes, yes you should. You got the game. It will get QoL fixes in time as well as optimization. They don't HAVE to bring it to PC, it's not their targeted audience anyways, so when people go "Mah game don't work!" just know you're a vocal minority, no matter how loud your voice is and that's just how it is. When we get games developed for PC, they work. When we get ports, they are 50/50.
It is a business... to make money. You think they are doing PC gamers a "favor". Jee... some people.
Yes, they are doing you a favor. Here's the thing. The game according to steam spy has about the same sales as Nioh 2 at the moment. When you factor that in? They have a successful PC launch. Now, when you factor in that a small portion of those people have complained, you create, the vocal minority. PC releases especially from console are always bonkers and barely ever work as advertised on the trailers. Why? Different specifications.
Software/hardware/bloatware/malware/OS, all of these things effect how your PC runs and yet what is the ONE THING people say when they go "MAH FPS!" they mention only their GPU. Mention it all, give a complete DXdiag readout so people with no problems can compare AND the developers can troubleshoot/fix based on an actual report, not "My 4090 stutters like mad!" cause that ain't helpin anyone.
That's what people said about the poor mouse support. They also said ''if these were not an issue it would be a positive review''. They patched that, mouse support is great now. Has anyone changed their review? Noooope. That is what you get when people dont criticise due to high standards or principles, but because of anger or jumping on a bandwagon.
People didnt do it for many other titles. Including Elden Ring and the Nioh games. So if people see the issues for this one they think ''oh so it means it has way worse issues, or the game is just bad'' I'm just saying, but if reviews for all the bad ported games were all negative.. we wouldnt have most console games on PC these days.. because they would have stopped trying.
Feedback is important. Criticising bad ports or just bad performance is VERY important. But it has to be an appropriately sized complaint.
This is also why imo Steam should really seperate (both keep them both at front page) tech and gameplay reviews.
So when people look at a page for a game like this, it reads: gameplay: recommended, solid game (see user experiences) / performance: not recommended, many issues (see user experiences)
you are giving me brain rot from all your arguments, i forgot they gave us the game for free
Now I feel so grateful...
Jee I should go Japan and thank them 90 Degree bow.
Then don't release buggy games. Simple as that. If the game is really that good, it will do well anyway. Everyone has the right to be angry for spending their hard earn money on a poor release. It is call reality.
That is not something I would consider a good thing, at all.
People ignore the huge issues going on in the world that do warrant getting that angry about..
That may be so...But negative rating on steam isn't balanced whatsoever and obscures the fact that this is a solid souls like. Meanwhile some ultra janky indie games get green rating. Rating is extremely subjective based on emotional response of consumer.
Thankfully I'm educated on TeamNinja and souls games, so I knew to expect something good and look under the cover. But many will just avoid this game whilst its quite fun actually.
