Performance after patch
I still haven't purchased the game after reading the reviews. But I'm curious how's the PC performance for you all after the current patch. Did it get better or should I still steer clear for another patch?

I remember trying the demo when it dropped on my 3050 TI + 12700h + 16 GB ram laptop and it ran around 60 on average with huge stutters at times on Standard settings and even on the highest settings the performance was decent at the starting area. However, I tried the demo again after this patch to see if mouse controls were fixed and the performance became much much worse. No matter the settings, the starting area runs anywhere from 35 to 60 fps, with average fps being around 45. And changing the settings literally does not affect the fps in any way, so Idk what's going on.

So a lot of graphically glitches like flashing white screens are gone. But my FPS has tanked 30 consistently. Though the frame drops still exist.

The mouse is fixed? I think? I don't know I never used it but people are saying it's fixed

I played the demo, the crack version to see if the fps was just a demon thing and then i tried the xbox live version. All of then with fps sufferings and massive drop.
I still need to test the game on my main rig since right now only my laptop was tested.

The game ran like garbage when I first started playing. Now that I'm going through NG+ everything runs much smoother for some reason, before the patch even.
I'm fairly skeptical about anyone who says their PC can't run this game or that they are having performance issues. My PC doesn't really meet the requirements to run a game like this and it works fine for me (currently 8 stages and 20+ hrs in). I tweaked the settings at the outset until I could play comfortably and I don't have any issues. I also got better performance after the update.

I think the real issue is people have 6-9k Pcs and refuse to tweak / turn down their settings only to then complain that they are having "performance" issues and that the game needs to be "optimized". My PC is nothing special and cost 1,100$. Seems weird to me that people with more advanced hardware are having all these "issues". It just doesn't add up, frankly.

The flashing was due to ambient occlusion, i disabled that and never had flashing again.

before the patch I played quite well on 60 fps now I can't play anymore I had set everything to a minimum

well so far its been weird CPU % has gone high up sometimes sometimes back to 40% when i do 120 FPS the game starts to RUN like SLOW MOTION while it actualy shud act difrently where the more FPS you have the faster it shud be but i guess they not optimized that as for grapics i had to put it on medium and all becouse my FPS went lower the higher i went some reason but other then that

with the 60 FPS lock Dysinc on and atleast keep grapics on normal and not high i have been abled to play this game just fine do hope they fix that soon or later

That's not how "fps" work persay. FPS just increase the number of frames so that things look smoother to you. 120 FPS is kinda pointless, since the human eye can't really register the difference at that point. It basically just looks "smoother", but not by much.

The reason the game runs slower with higher frames is because your PC can't take each picture and display it quickly enough. As a result, the game slows down for you.

You can most likely fix this by visiting and changing 2 or 3 settings. For example, go to the resolution setting and switch it to 50%. Then go to Borderless window instead of full screen. Play it and see if you get better performance. If so, then play with the resolution setting until you get it as high as you can.

Then, visit the other graphical settings and toggle them all off, then turn them on one by one. Eventually you'll see which one is causing the most problems for you - leave it off and play.

one tip that help me to run the game very smooth ...close ampiemt occlusion fron game options and set the game to 60 fps and disable V-SYNC. also disable all setting from the last page motion blur chromatic amberation etc and proirity fps ...everything else set it to max... next go to the nvidia control panel force the V-SYNC to on and cap your frame rate to 60...with these settings i have zero stuttering issues and fps drops

People with 6-9k pc's need to turn down their settings? Do you have eyes? THis game is NOT that beautiful. Your need for ''tweaking'' literally proves that optimization is not good. Tweaking should only be needed if you aren't way above the recommended specs and you want to see if you can get the most fps while tuning down some settings that you give up for that fps. A 6-9k pc should not have to do that with a game like this. If you unironically think they do.. The whole problem is that they game isn't so beautiful or intense that it would require THAT much power. It's using/demanding FAR more than it logically should. THAT is unoptimized.

And probably have higher standards than you. I could run this game on low/low 30 fps too i'm sure. But am I going to sit through that just for a ''stable'' experience? Nah.

But yes, the good ol' user error, just stick your head in the sand and pretend there's nothing wrong with the game because your eyes can't notice it.

And oh yeah, it's probably their fault too the game ran okay before and after the patch they suddenly have issues, right? If only they tweaked their settings.

On Game Pass it fixed the constant stuttering for me.

You're kind of making my point for me.

Insisting for an entire company to "meet your needs" when you could just toggle a few settings is pretty wild. :steambored:

No, I expect them to meet their own standards. If they post recommended specs and a computer is well above said recommended specs, you should be able to run past what they recommended. There's a reason there's a minimum spec and recommended spec. If you're well above it and the performance is subpar, then yes, it is their fault.

Honestly, the game was running perfectly fine for me before the patch, but now I can't get it to run well at all. Frame rate tanks all the time, stuttering, slowdown, had none of those issues before the patch. And changing the settings to the lowest possible doesn't make any difference, still runs poorly. I would rollback to the version before the patch if I could.
