exactly. you can have all the power you want, even an i9 will stutter, it just stutters less (meaning, for fewer milliseconds)

this isnt unreal engine. games managed without shader compilation before. especially this engine. nioh didnt need it either. i experience no stutter at all.
Shader compilation is an API issue (DX12), not Unreal Engine exclusive. Any game that uses dx12 needs to precompile shaders, nioh is probably just dx11 since it's old and last gen.

If the mouse cursor is in the game window, game stutters, when I take it off, stutter is gone.
Just posting this if it actually helps anyone else, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ weird man,

Nah man its true, game starts to stutter for me again if I place mouse cursor back to the game and stutter is gone when I take it off. Done this multiple times to test if it wasn't just a random thing.

their M&K implementation seem to be so dreadful based on posts on this forum, that I'm inclined to believe you and that something may just be adding some extra layer of problems to this awful port.

no but the 120 fps mode make the game look like ps1 era grapichs with all that pixelation

that happens when you choose performance mode, they dont say it but that just means they will reduce resolution when you miss FPS.
Ah nice thanks for the tip im now getting 90 fps on 2k

The Demo was fine for me 60fps @1080p default settings at medium. Smooth as a babies arse.

I7-7700k and a 1080ti

My CPU is only a quad core CPU. Maybe there is issues with people who have CPU's with many more cores. Has anybody tried running the game after temporarily turning off some of your cores?

(Those that know what they are doing) set your active cores to 4 and try the game then?

Disclalimer: only try this if you know how to access this via msconfig otherwise dont if you not sure what to do.

None at all but playing in FPS mode with a 3070.

No. I speak normally.

I had bad stutters with both demo versions (40-120fps), however when playing the Gamepass (MS Store) version that launched today and changing the framerate mode setting in game to 120fps, it only stuttered for the first minute or so (some down to 50fps) then stayed consistently around the 90-120fps mark for the rest of the second level. They must have done some further optimisation/improvements since the demo.

So, I got anxious and decided to change my pc region to NZ to try the game early, and the game pass build is almost flawless. There ARE shader compilation stutters here and there, but nothing like the demo, which for me, was stuttering even on the pre-rendered stuff O.o

I tried the game earlier and no stutter, should be the same experience once i play the full game when it "officially" release

12900k, 32gb ram, lastest nvidia driver and SSD

I tried gamepass demo and it actually gave me even worse performance issues.
I checked the stats more closely this time and it was showing massive drops in GPU usage happening periodically.
Tiasmoon Mar 3, 2023 @ 3:35am
Update: started the game now and right from the start its running very smooth now. I dont know if that will change, but this is the area where in the demo the performance was horrible for me before and instead its just...smooth.
AILAD Mar 3, 2023 @ 3:36am
The game runs terrible on PC.

Some people just don't notice it because they're used to bad PC ports.

Nonsense. The demo does indeed run terrible, but that doesnt appear to be the cast with the full game at all. If I say the game is smooth, it is smooth. I am far more sensitive to performance issues then most are.
