This isn't an mmo.
World's take was pretty fun and seemed like a natural evolution of the game, but it left a lot to desire. IB was fun but the clutchclaw ruined it. The reason why the Fatalis hunt was so good in World is because it made use of all this extra ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ without making the fight all about it as most of IB did.
Recycling monster move sets is also pretty silly, the new animations are pretty great and all, but they're severely outdated. It feels like they're still making monsters for TRI while giving us all this extra ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to abuse the monsters with. In Rise, if you're looking to run away from the monster, there is no way it's catching up to you, especially if you have an extra wirebug or the dog at hand. It's silly.
And maybe, just maybe let's for once have a MH game where the roster of new monsters is actually comparable to the amount of old monsters returning. New monsters, the actually imposing ones, that's what we need. The reason World players complained about the new elder dragons and returning ones with updated movesets is because they haven't fought that monster several hundred times over over the course of the series.
Any kind of mechanic that makes the online community more involved is a step in the right direction imo.
Now keep in mind, the only reason I was fine with Alatreon was because of it's position in the progression, at that point you should be capable of creating a loadout tailor made for a monster, well not only that but you should also have the gear at ready. The only thing I would change however, is the DPS check being so reliant on elements, have a DPS check, but I would've rather seen in in a form of parts broken. You're on a timer, you need to break both of the horns as well as some other bodyparts, go ahead and do it, other wise you wipe.
