File size doesn't mean much of anything.
seriously.......its not packed once its installed. The stats on the store page is install size..Not download size.
Rise: 40 monsters(not counting apexes), 5 main maps.
World: 36 monsters, 5 main maps.
EDIT: Just wanted to add that this is from the perspective of someone who completed the story mode of each game and didn't get super far into the "end game".
yea that makes sense.I am not a fan of lots of cutscenes anyway. That would not bother me.
The more barren areas are more to save on gpu power on the switch than storage space.
The switch really doesn't have that much of an issue with storage space. Last game that had a real problem was LA Noire because it was too big to fit on the internal storage and required a SD card.
Gameplay is a compromise between World and traditional Monster Hunter games. Rise is a very good Monster Hunter to start on but as someone who already played World I lost interest after a while. You have much better mobility in this one so evading attacks and getting out of hopeless situations is way easier than it's ever been before, to the point that it's almost hard to die.
On the flip side, I've heard some of the later monsters have basically one-hit-kill attacks to add some difficulty back into the game. The horde attack mode gimmick is also super boring and seems like they were desperate for something to add "value" to the game so they threw in a tower defense mode.
Overall, hard to recommend if you already have World. If it was $60 and included the expansion that would be one thing. Full price and no expansion... oof.
