Loved the game, a few critiques and a QoL suggestions [Spoilers]
First off, the scope of this game for such a small dev team is impressive. Don't think all the little details go unnoticed, like how depending on how a team member dies determines where their corpse goes and what condition it's in. All the art assets for that alone for 6 characters is crazy!

My only gripes were that I figured the character you got to the helicopter with would change something about the fake ending. On that same note, that how many of the team were still left alive would also affect the fake ending. Obviously it's the fake ending, but still! I feel like this is what the game is setting/teasing you about the whole time but falls flat IMO.

Though I know ultimately that Katherine is the one that has the spotlight in the true ending, I wish other characters (which I grew to like over their own unique charms expressed by the dialogue in the mansion) weren't just relegated to being zombies that you mow down on the way to the Director.

I also think that of the members of the team, Javier seems to have the least importance. Ashley gives you medkits, Eric upgrades weapons, Mike has a secret sub mission that unlocks the true ending, Vincent has a part in that as well with the chessboard, and of course Katherine is the protagonist. Javier has his brass knuckles, but it doesn't really involve him doing anything specific in the mansion, he's labeled as 'Demolitons', so I figured maybe he could use the grenade launcher/make an improvised bomb in the fabricator to unlock some secret thing or related to the plot somehow.

As far as QoL, I think it'd be great if you could swap items out (I'm talking medkits basically) from your inventory to the world. A few times I was full up on small medkits when I saw a big one, and I'd have like to swapped them but it's not possible without wasting the one you have already.

Thanks for reading!

Hey there, Ser, thanks for the kudos and the feedback! I'm going to share this with the rest of the crew. Like you say, we're a tiny team so we had to make some really difficult cuts along the way. Javier's relative lack of stuff being one such example. I hope we get an opportunity to go back and fill in some of the missing pieces one day. Thanks for being a fan!

I too just wanted to reach out to the devs of this masterpiece you guys did an amazing job on this game i absolutely love it! i knew when i looked at its trailer i was going to but man seriously the whole design and art style is beautiful, the music is haunting and epic towards the end, and last but not least the story and all the little secrets are just chefs kiss. i especially liked having different death sequences depending on certain factors like what enemy or puzzle killed them, or what room they died in and having to find their body in unique poses or potentially re-animated as new foes to check their bodies for the items they retained from previous runs just amazing work here guys! Hope it gets more content like a survival or random objective mode similar to RE3 1999 merceneries but even if it doesnt the base game is more than sufficient thank you for your hard work on this it is the best survival horror game i have played in a long time! One final question i wanted to ask you is-is it possible to recreate the scene depicted in the trailer where all 6 team members are dead at the dinner table? i have never gotten a true game over where all die and no k coins remain (prior to the ingame option to do so after the stories twist is revealed and all memories have been obtained to initiate the games conclusion) and i figured perhaps that sequence would play then? obviously you cant have all 6 die in that room and still live to see its result reflected in the environment which is how i assume they get posed in the chairs to begin with i personally have never had it happen yet. I only ask since that particular image of them at the table was very disturbing (its emphasis at the end of the trailer made it even more creepy) and i loved it, reminded me of the secret new game plus sequence from hotline miami 2 with all the characters dead at the same table with richard. I also noticed a single plate of food being set out at the table for each character as you play as them even amounting up one plate at a time if no one eats any, very nice touch like all the subtle details ;) (just curious about its significance if any) But i digress thank you guys very much for this game it is truly one of a kind and a breathe of fresh air for people seeking a new rendition of retro game design like myself i wish you nothing but success in your future endeavors as a design team and hope that you can rest easy and enjoy the fruits of your labor now that the game is done, released, and truly magnificent, cheers!

Thanks N64! Really appreciate your kudos!

Probably the closest you can get to recreating the trailer is to die to the shield knight with 5 of your characters. Their corpses will be seated at the table. As to the food, it's just
a fun little choice whether to eat it or not -- except for Katherine's plate...
Was looking for a discussion on the pros and cons of using each character. You'll notice right away that half of the characters are slender, speedier, but can't take as much hits as their bulkier and slower counterparts. Javier is probably the slowest one, I feel. OP has covered most of the characters specialties. Except, Katherine is immune to the virus. Javier has brass knuckles when using his fists. Not sure if this is for aesthetics or damage changes. When testing, it seemed to do as much damage as the knife to the prisoner zombies. Javier is also the only character that can punch the boulder trap right in the face. Not that useful, but still hilarious.

I wish there was a chart or some data to show the stats of each character.
