Crops don't grow/randomly grown in green houses

I've planted an entire greenhouse of wheat the same day. Only bits grew and the rest grew later. I've got seeds in a spring green house that I've forgotten what they are. It's been several days and they won't grow at all.

i have a patch of green beans that are ready whenever i enter the greenhouse - even the same day
and another patch that doesnt retain water (has 100% fertilizer) and doesnt get wet by rain, while the surrounding plants work just fine
