Zaria Date Bug (Resulting in Permanently Lost Item)

So I am currently at 15 hearts with Zaria and went on my first exclamation date. Without detailing major spoilers, I had the cutscene specific item in my hands when the date ended visually, even though the physical keepsake version was safely in my inventory. So my sprite was still holding the bucket when I shouldn't have been, I should have had empty hands since the cutscene was over.

I was also naturally on my mount whistle hotkey and when I pressed to mount, I ate the whistle that also caused the bucket to disappear from my sprites hands. So the bucket is still in my inventory, but the mount whistle is totally gone. I force quit without saving and nothing. My whistle is not on my hotbar, in my inventory or in any chests, I just straight up nommed it out of existence...and it was one of the unique to each save whistles so...yeah. I'm horrified, a little sad and laughing at the wtf of it all.

Please fix this so that others can date Zaria responsibly and safely. Don't let others have the misfortune of eating their unique items or hard to replace advanced tools.
